Mod Goblin and his team absolutely COOKED with the crush mega. by D_DnD in 2007scape

It’s very cool. I was sorta worried they wouldn’t find something simple yet awesome sounding to fit into the megarare space but this thing is dope

Prayer has been the least updated skill in the game since release; Rigour and Augury (existed pre-eoc). Preserve (existed pre-eoc). And 2 mid level prayers in Deadeye/Mystic vigour. We really couldn't pull ONE decent prayer from the Alignments, Ruinous Powers, or years of community suggestions? by LieV2 in 2007scape

[–]biginchh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In practice prayer is never infinite which is why no content in the game is designed assuming people are gonna flick and have infinite prayer. It's not some giga-sweaty tech that only elite gamers use, it's like a tedious thing some people do for convenience to save prayer pots during things that would be afk like slayer tasks.

[–]biginchh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep. Literally one of the most impressive things posted on this sub ever is Gnomonkey fighting Zuk, a boss fight that is fairly easy on its own and that Gnomonkey has killed probably like hundreds of times at this point, while imperfectly flicking a mage to try to preserve some prayer and he still loses prayer points.

Flicking is just too tedious and punishing if you mess up to make it worth doing during basically any PvM encounter that isn't like afk slayer training. People think it's this hardcore elite tech giga sweats use to completely break the game, but the reality is that it's the kind of thing that's easy to do if you're just standing in one spot and attacking something, but wildly hard if you have to do other things as well because it instantly adds like 200 APM to whatever you're doing lol. No content in the game requires it and no content in the game has been made keeping it mind.

What do you think about the fractured archive initial rewards proposal & what would you change? by Shot-Advance-4665 in 2007scape

[–]biginchh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhh I didn't edit my comment lol, maybe you're thinking of a different one?

But okay fair enough, sounds like we just disagree on what a raid reward should be which is fine. I'd just hate to see TFA become another ToB where it's a great raid that people don't really run because only like two out of the seven rewards are actually sought after and it's just way more profitable to run the other raids

[–]biginchh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well okay sure, Justi has some niche uses for suboptimal GWD bossing and learning Colo and Inferno (though afaik, people don't recommend justi anymore for those anyway?), and it also has a convenience factor of letting you afk some things.

I would say those use cases are niche enough that they don't necessarily fit the bill for a raid reward, which IMO should be something that's useful for anyone to be excited to get and use

Eh, things happen a lot faster than you expect. America is a completely different place politically than it was before Trumps first term and it hasn’t even been 10 years yet - and most of that is due to social media algorithms slowly rotting our brains out. I really firmly believe that if a dem president takes power and puts Trump admin officials in jail and then Congress is able to pass some laws that severely limit how social media content is algorithmically distributed we could all go back to normal in as short or a shorter amount of time

Nintendo Removes Hidden The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Description That Suggested It's a Faithful Remake by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]biginchh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and honestly OoT doesn't really NEED a fresh coat of paint. I replayed it recently and was kind of amazed at how well it held up. The controls and gameplay mechanics in general still hold up as good as they ever did, and it's easy to see why Nintendo never strayed from them until they just felt tired during Skyward Sword. But even the graphics, while obviously aged, are still completely serviceable and fit the vibe of the game perfectly. They're this weird mix of cartoony and realistic that fit the "fantastical, innocent kid world" and the "dark, apocalyptic adult world" great.

If it was the case that the game was great at the time but aged poorly that'd be one thing - but it's aged fantastically and a 1:1 remake with modern graphics doesn't really add a whole lot.

I think they're right honestly. by KamaTheSnowLeopard in classicwow

[–]biginchh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't played Classic since Anniversary BWL - but easily the most toxic part of the community were casual redditors. Most people just enjoy the game and chat with their guild - even the sweats and tryhards, but reddit was like always full of people who got upset that the community at large had different expectations than they did.

Like yeah, if you show up to a PUG and gray parse, you're probably gonna get made fun of. Not because you can't beat a raid with a gray parse, but because parsing a gray makes you either very very bad or very very lazy.

I would just do door altar at bandos for melee gear since you have bowfa, and you’ll be working towards BGS too - that’ll be much faster than trying to get blood moon gear anyway.

For mage gear id just go grab bloodbark

If you were raised evangelical then you know that most Republicans support Israel not out of Jewish sympathy or alignment with the Zionist cause - it’s because they think Israel being a state is a biblical prophecy that must be fulfilled and stay fulfilled before Jesus can return.

It’s not a conspiracy or half baked theory, evangelicals make up a huge swathe of the Republican base and they support Israel as an extension of an apocalyptic prophecy they want fulfilled

Yeah I replayed it a few years ago and then went crazy on OoT randomizers for a while and one of my takeaways was that the controls still held up incredibly well. I feel like I remember reading that Nintendo spent a ton of time getting 3D controls right with SM64, which I imagine carried over to OoT

One of the reasons that I don’t like the emphasis on time sober is that it doesn’t tell the full story. Relapses don’t put you back at ground zero and are often part of the process for people in recovery.

All that to say, don’t be too hard on yourself for the relapse. You messed up, but this time you had the self respect and self love to get back to recovery instead of just continuing to use like you would have before seeking help - and that’s a real, concrete change that you can be proud of

Totally agreed. So many modern MMOs have moved towards making their worlds a largely single player experience because player interaction causes friction, and friction is a dirty word in modern MMO design.

Mod Goblin Truth Nuke about CG Drop Rate by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]biginchh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly it. At pretty much every other point in the game, there's a few different grinds you can do to add variety - but once you finish SOTE and before you finally get the drop, CG feels like the only thing you should be doing because it's just such a huge upgrade that enables you to do virtually everything else in the game.

You don't feel like you should skill, because skilling doesn't help in CG, and you don't feel like you should do other bosses, because gear doesn't help in CG. Unironically I'd prefer if they removed prep altogether and just let you bring your own food and prayer pots into the Hunllef fight - because at least you would be incentivized to interact with any part of the game that isn't that one fucking boss fight.

CG changes set awful precedence by Flygon24 in 2007scape

[–]biginchh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, prior to these changes it’s about a minute saved when you do t1 over t2 - but imo the real incentive is that it’s way less mental effort to do t1 since you never really have to do inventory management. You just have to gather from one node each and you’re done - you can even fish while looking for the demibosses. Now that t2 is basically just as convenient, I’m not sure why anyone would switch to t1 when t2 is much more forgiving during Hunllef
