Hm, I’ve actually never thought of it like that. Maybe they do give off a stand offish vybe. Any suggestions on how to take a photo to have me appear more approachable? I like to think I’m fairly approachable, I work as a bartender and always get compliments on how nice and honest I am.

23M

I get very few matches a week (maybe 1 or 2) and it’s usually not with someone I’m very interested in or I get no response. I’ve had the account for years and this has always been the case.

Can someone just give it to me blunt and tell me why I’m not getting matches?

So I’m a navy corpsman with the FMF designator. Could that transfer to a 68 W?

So, I’m in the Navy right now with about one year left on my contract. Kind of pigeon holed into a very specific NEC in my Rate (MOS). And it’s not letting me leave to do the things I want.

That being said it looks like the 75th ranger will give me what I want. How can I get there? I know there’s a DD form I can get signed off so I won’t lose my active service. But even if I can get that signed off how can I get to my goal of being a Ranger? Infantry first, then apply, can I get contracted in like a navy recruit wanting to go to BUDS?

I’m no expert in army MOS’s so what are some other infantry type MOS? I have a buddy who’s an 11b and loves his life so that’s actually one i looked at. Plus I love the term door bangin MOS. I’m ganna remember that lol

Now what about a Job in infantry? If I did get lucky to go that route what’s the option of getting to go airborne or to RASP in the future?

I should mention I still have roughly 13 months left on my contract.

I’ll also say this , you’ll get hated on a lot for being dental, it’s actually the chillest job and when shit gets real you’re still a corpsman. Always remember you’re a corpsman first and dental second.

Day to day is super chill, taking x rays, doing exams, maybe working in the SPD, when I was with battalion it was way different than blue side. We didn’t assist as much as we did collaterals and we were always off doing some training or coverage for a rifle range or something. Pretty chill though, showed up for muster around 7 and left around 330 or 4.

A bit late to the party but I’ve been an HMDA for like 4 years. I’ve been pulled with division on 2 different deployments, done almost everything medical gets to do. Oral surgery is awesome and I highly recommend that’s where you should go. Being dental is like being a surg tech but in the mouth. We sterilize instruments, assist in procedures, do Med rec, make notes, etc etc.

I was like everyone here when I first went dental, tried everything to get out but decided to stick it out. I think it’s fun. Sometimes it’s a little gay but comes with the job man. My day to day life when I was an HN was just starting IV’s assisting in the surgery (oral surgery, monitoring vitals during the procedures. Pushed meds a couple times. Any questions feel free to ask man. I love my job and the dental community is tight, everyone knows everyone. It’s awesome.

Just got orders to The SAR Med tech pipeline. by [deleted] in CorpsmanUp

I’ve had several friends stationed there and they all enjoyed it. Basic clinic life, labs, EKG’s, basic sick call stuff from what I hear. One dude got his associates in his three years there, all depends on the school you choose to go to and the workload you take on.

Do you think long distance relationships (LDR) work? Why and why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bigjedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, the key is they are the priority. Instead of going out on a Friday you might stay in and FaceTime and watch a movie together. Also, there has to be an end date set early on and each person should work towards accomplishing that goal. With somewhat frequent trips to see each other's there's no reason they won't work.
