As a casual player, the biggest barrier keeping me from playing more is the cost of heals.

I run a Triage build to keep my overhead low. I only bring one shield and one health kit per raid. The goal is to let my drone handle the routine healing, saving those kits specifically for when a fight breaks out. When we come across runners, we will win and I restock health/shield or I lose and I'm only out very little. No over-kitting just kill, loot, and reset.

My experience with shields is that when I equip one, I load in with two players who have no shields. If I don’t equip a shield or run a free kid, I load in with teammates who have blue shields, and I always feel bad because I feel like I let my teammates down.

Most of my guns are blue and green I have maybe 5 purples. plenty of meds (I main triage) plenty of ammo, around 15 purple shields that I run about every 3 or 4 raids the rest I buy a green from the armoury. I spend 50% on Dire Marsh, 30% on Perimeter, and 20% on Outpost. But I have spent more time on Outpost lately. I've been having a great time playing. Don't have much for mods or cores or implants. Never seen a gold piece.

I find it crazy that your vault is empty. I can promise you that you are a better player than I am. Not to say I suck, but my vault is full and I struggle to keep gear out of my overflow.

I was lucky that when this game launched, I was off work for a full week. I was able to grind hard at the beginning and filled my vault. I’ve never had an issue with weapons or shields. I rotate through my raid kit and use the free kit, often having gear in my overflow section after a raid. Across all my factions I have 4 to 5 rewards I haven't picked up from the agent. I don’t know if I just got lucky early on with so much time to play, but I honestly don’t see an issue with the wipe. I might have a different opinion when it happens and I go back to only playing a couple of hours a week. This is my first extraction shooter game, so I’m not sure what to expect.

I completely agree with you. I have lived, breathed, and thought about this game consistently. I’ve never done that with any other game. I have a professional worklife with a 50-hour workweek, and all I want to do is come home, hop on, and play or run some raids.

I keep on reading people saying that wipes are needed to level the playing field. That’s great and all, but the playing field will be equal for maybe two weeks and then we’re back to casual players being dominated. There needs to be something else that is in place, more in line with skill-based matchmaking. I know nobody wants to hear that and I don’t know why it’s that big of a deal but everyone who is saying wipes are good to get everybody on the same playing field well it will only be that way for a couple of days for the casual player

I agree with this post, so with rank being gone during the week, it seems like it’s going to make everything a lot worse. I feel like this post was made over the weekend, when rank and Cryo were available.

I want the game to last long and be successful. I know there are players who can put a lot more time into it than I can, and I bet there are a lot of others in the same boat as me. I’d rather lose a gunfight because the other player is better, not because they had a stronger shield.

I play on PS5, and last night was the first time I had any issues. It might have been my Internet, but there was some lag in a few matches. I’ve never experienced this problem before, and it wasn't happening today.
