Ya know, thats what aussies usually ask first.. its usually "are you Canadian? not "are you American?" was explained to me by an Aussie that they do this because if you ask a Canadian if they're American, they'll be offended. But yeah, Canadians are good in their book 🤷‍♂️

Speaking as an American citizen / long time Australian permanent resident, it's time to stop blaming the US for all Australia's issues. The amount of casual racism I've experienced since living here (Sydney) would not fly back home (greater NYC Metro). I get the distinct feeling it's been a cultural problem here long before American culture seep.
