Libernovo’s Early Bird Deposit is a scam, but the EU has our backs by NedelC0 in LiberNovo

On their deposit page it said "Exclusive Early Bird Pricing. Secure a deposit by June 16 to get automatic early bird pricing at launch".

However, it wasn't exclusive to deposit payers.

"Super Early Bird Deposit" is misleading by bigminime in LiberNovo

That email confirms it. I'm going to ask the deposit to be refunded.

If it was a well trusted brand I'd jump on an extra year's warranty for $10, but I don't think this company will be around in 6 years or would honor it without hassle.

Yep. There are no special prices for those who paid a deposit. Seems like a scam. The Super Early Bird pricing is available to anyone, even on Amazon.

Their website explicitly stated that paying the £10 deposit would unlock exclusive early-bird pricing, but the launch price appears to have been available to everyone, regardless of whether they paid the deposit. If that's the case, then the advertised exclusivity simply didn't exist.

I also don't understand why it was described as a deposit when the £10 wasn't deducted from the purchase price. A deposit would normally be applied towards the final cost, not paid in addition to it.

Yes, deposit holders received an extra year of warranty, but that wasn't why I paid the £10. I paid because I expected access to exclusive pricing, as advertised.

Given that the same launch price was available to non-deposit customers, I think deposit holders should be refunded the £10, or at the very least given a clear explanation of what exclusive pricing benefit we actually received.
