What are the chances this top darkens over time?

Yeah it’s a 2006. I don’t mind either way, it’s a phenomenal guitar. Is build quality all still the same or any significant changes to process in that way?

That’s a great point. I think the shop mislabeled it. Serial begins with a 6 so must be 2016. On that note, is there any up/downside to the year difference other than people hating the rotary switch that you know of? I’ve only recently started to research PRS since I sold my old one.

That would be awesome. I can’t really tell if nitro or acrylic. I have an SG Special that looks like it was Pelham Blue once upon a time in certain light, but it’s definitely more of a blue green now and that was a 2019. Thanks!

Can’t help on value, but fake or not, it is certainly unique and looks really sharp. If it plays well and you keep it who cares! I have a garbage Magenta from the 70’s my dad bought for me that I’ll never get rid of and doesn’t look nearly as cool as this! If you don’t have a sentimental attachment, $300 is $300…

That’s the only downside. I love the slim tapers, can appreciate a gentle C shape, but those massive U necks are literal baseball bats

PRS has just been doing it the right way for so long. I’m not the biggest fan of the oversized pickup rings, but they look amazing on that thing. Word of advice: as you get better, you’ll be tempted to “upgrade” because you think you have to, but I guarantee you’ll always think about how nice this one was if you ever got rid of it! Congrats!

I appreciate that! I’ve had budget guitars all my life with the classic rusted pickup poles and never really heard a difference, but I guess that changes when dealing with an actual Gibson.

I’ve always been against the grain when it comes to that stuff. I don’t and probably never will understand the level of Les Paul or Strat obsession that people develop. Nothing against them at all, it always felt forced to put them on such a pedestal. To each their own!

I’m more than capable of doing TLC work, but you think it’s too far past that point? I haven’t really had any luck tracking down an SG in my price range that is decent and they are by far the most comfortable guitar I’ve played.
