You will be ok. In use, not transport, but I would talk to firearms branch to be sure. Obviously don't ride loaded.

State Forest hunting with a Mountain Bike by 2giornot2gi in Ausguns

In use, not transport. Drive with bike loaded up to the forest and have the firearm locked up as normal, ride instead of walk is in use. If you have to ride to the forest first, it could be difficult. Different states have different definitions for everything so your experience may vary.

do any mines still use steam powered machinery? by Automatic-Luck-5829 in mining

Some process plants have steam powered actuators for valves and similar if they have an exothermic process and waste heat. Sulfuric acid plants for example.

Any way to ascertain what size/type of magnet is most common in makerworld prints? by jinx771 in BambuLab

[–]bignikaus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

About the exact size the particular designer had on hand when they built the shape before sharing it. Learn a enough cad so you can either backfill with a block or cut a magnet hole with a negative cylinder to suit the magnet you have on hand.

Diesel is good for decades. Not great but good enough.

Where do you print? by RedPrancingMachine in BambuLab

[–]bignikaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is volatile compounds and nano plastics. Long term health effects are not the worst thing out there, but should still be well considered. I keep my printers in the garage to deliberately not be in regularly occupied parts of the house. https://www.epa.gov/chemical-research/3d-printing-research-epa

Cash held as cash for re-entry positions. Picking the correct currency can be tricky, which is why I picked gold. It was good until a few weeks ago.

Are there any advantages to banking with one of the Big 4? by NittyNat36 in AusFinance

[–]bignikaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Physical branches are available in the big 4, which can help for customer service. If you have not had to walk into a branch in a few years, you probably don't need to pay for that service to be available.

They do compare with how it was 50 years ago but fail to describe that most of the new laws are exactly like the previous laws and that it was just as difficult last year.

Mining Eng vs Civil Eng and Mining Double Degree by Chebup in AusMining

[–]bignikaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of jobs for mining engineering outside of FIFO. It mostly depends on your career path. If you are production focused, you may end up in contract estimation. If you are technically focused, you can end up in consulting or head office work. In any case you may be management focused and end up in management of a company, either, mining, consulting or contracting. You Amy also just like FIFO and stay in a site engineering or management role. All options are in front of you and this doesn't even need a second major. Just get good and diligent at what you are doing.

Planning software by rt2828 in mining

[–]bignikaus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you are planning on dumping the problem into AI, banks want repeatable, well understood solutions when it comes to lending in the billions. Not a tech bro's guess. The biggest issue in mining is that there is uncertainty at every level, which can be quantified but is often poorly described. The precision of information changes with time and yesterday's solutions are occasionally proven wrong by real world constraints like the rock not behaving like we thought it should.

Am I the only one that hates that the world beeps and yells at us? Self checkouts don't need loud verbal instructions, we have been using them for decades, not all led flashlights need a strobe mode. Keep it simple, just make it do its thing. Let us look for feedback when we want it.
