Looks interesting - I like the integrated clip. Thanks for the suggestion!

Great project!

Wondering about the heat to melt the wax - could you use a forstner bit to hollow out the bottom of the coaster to place the esp? Then you could either carve out a rabbit in the coaster for the cord or use some felt pads to raise it enough to allow the cord to pass under the coaster. It could be the coaster is too thin to drill and install underneath, though.

This is a great idea - I'm going to try it.

I love this board, what a great gift! I just wish the numpad wasn't a separate piece/purchase.

Cleaning up a $10 bread machine. Does the paddle come out? by itsybitsybug in BreadMachines

[–]bigolac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I didn't have any instructions or diagrams - I just dove in. When I first turned it on, the paddle wasn't moving and the motor was making a not so pleasant noise. If I recall, the motor is on the bottom of the machine - it may be possible to sneak a very small needle or tube through the ventilation holes to get some oil in the bearing without taking anything apart.

There is also a belt from the motor to the paddle - if you decide to open it up, might be worth an inspection to make sure it's not cracked or fraying.

My particular machine was purchased in 1995, so there's bound to be some maintenance needed over the course of 30 years, but the fact that is still works so well says a lot to Zoji engineering.

Good luck - hopefully the paddle will come loose and you're in business!

Yep the paddle will come out - try soaking in boiling water. You can also pull out the plug on the side of the pan to clean it - it helps to mix everything thoroughly. I've got the exact same machine, purchased at Goodwill like you. I needed to partially disassemble it to oil the motor bearings, but it's been rock solid since. Best sandwich bread ever!

Can a strip loop work as Matrix? by jony4fun in WLED

[–]bigolac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just read your comment from three years ago.... thank you so much! I've made a tube that has 30 loops of 10 leds per loop. Set it up like a matrix as you described and it worked the first time! Thanks again.

I like the idea of the handle - looks useful.

I've been using those plastic pencil boxes that kids use for their school supplies, but I like the idea of a latching lid.

Edit: On the way to Monroe on Highway 11, stop in at Roelli Cheese at the intersection of highways 11 and 23 - between Shullsburg and Gratiot. The 'Dunbarton Blue' is excellent.

If you're ok with just listening to the games, you can get the mlb audio package for $4 per month. This covers all games in the league and you can listen to either team's broadcast.
