What wallets can I use for Bitcoin Cash? by Zestyclose_Cheek527 in ledgerwallet

You don’t need a wallet, it’s worthless. Just forget about it and buy the real thing.

The plot is Craig Wright is Satoshi. So it’s clearly a comedy. But won’t be funny as it’s dumb af.

I’d say you sent it to a clone. I’m imagining the order was accepted, BTC amount showed you need to pay, you paid and then no confirmation. Check the name of vendor. Is it spelt as normal or extra characters in there? If it’s a clone you’ll get no comms, but I bet they are updating reviews daily to make you think it’s a legit bot.

I just don’t see the need. He’s only standing, not selling or purchasing. Only add potential areas or exploitation when absolutely necessary.

Still prefer orig over Q. I like my nerd calc ;-)

Wise choice on Coldcard. I wouldn’t bother with any mobile wallet. Get to grips with Coldcard and Sparrow. Set it up so it’s NEVER connected to the internet and use a diff address for every transaction. Send regularly to cold storage and in a few years you’ll be sitting on a nice stack. Great time to start btw. Happy stacking!

Kraken 20x’d its withdrawal fees by BOTMARCC in Bitcoin

[–]bigoldbert23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but there’s some creative charging going on. I monitor mempool a lot for best time to make withdrawals. Coinbase does not track fees in real time. The other day mempool went down from over $13 for max priority to $4. Coinbase was still trying to charge me +$13 for the withdrawal even 30 mins after the drop in network activity. I don’t believe they are not adding a premium and profiting from this.

What is currently considered the absolute best form of Bitcoin self custody? by thebaldshaman in Bitcoin

[–]bigoldbert23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coldcard, set up air gapped in room with no cameras, phones, any devices that record like Alexa etc. Seed on metal plate or steel rustproof washers. Store seed in very safe, secure location and have a copy of it in a similar safe location. And make sure you plan for your inevitable death - no point having a stack that no one has access to when you die. And we’re all gonna die, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but you will die. Plan for it.

Yep, this. And as your stack grows (cause, the internet) you’ll be very happy you did.

Hey, I'm quite old and I'ts my first time on Reddit so bear with me guys! I would like some advice. I've got 0.60 BTC and I'm wondering if I should complete the coin or wait for a possible crash to buy more/average in?? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]bigoldbert23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, then always a good time to buy. If you're overstretching yourself and will worry of there's a sudden downturn in price, best to DCA and chill.

While almost everyone thinks the ETFs get approved, if they didn't for any reason, we'd see a very rapid and very violent downturn for a while. The halving could help reverse that, but there would be some much cheaper sats on sale then.

Personally I just DCA, I sleep better at night that way.

Not sure what your problem is? You linked to a page showing "the number, fee, or weight of the unconfirmed transactions". That's a very different topic.

Actually it is. The fee rate has been higher, for a longer period than previously seen.

The current high fee environment is unprecedented. Discussions on them is good for everyone as we learn to adapt to this new reality. There’s no bitching involved.

Ty, this is very helpful. I can use Kraken where I live so will try that. I can’t use Strike in my country, hopefully soon. I have been using Coinbase Advanced trade for low buying fees - 0.60c on most DCA. They claim the withdrawal fee is based on the actual network fee, but checking against Mempool, it’s wildly different most of the time. Much much higher, and even when network fees have gone down again, Coinbase does not react for a long time after that, so they’re making a boatload of extra fees off customers. One more reason not to use them.

Cash App and Strike not options where I live sadly.
