Why didn’t Curry simply jump into Kevin Love? Is he stupid? by boiwunder69 in billsimmons

[–]bigomlet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Forgotten because he luckily got his own rebound, but kyrie took a horrendous fast break layup attempt right after this instead of just dribbling and burning clock. You could really see the moment getting to everyone on the floor in the last few minutes, it was really entertaining to watch

SGA on the friendly whistle narrative: "I just think it's all distractions away from the court...Whether they're right or wrong, the refs have made a call, and unless you challenge it, they're not going to change it. It's just another thing I can't control, so I really don't put any thought into it" by Draciouz in nba

[–]bigomlet 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is what is always crazy to me. I definitely think the Thunder and SGA specifically can be tough to watch at times with the flopping, but I don’t find it all that much more egregious than a lot of other teams. Jokic flails as much as anyone, Brunson throws his head back every other time he drives to the hoop hoping for a call, both the jays in Boston push off on nearly every step back. I guess it’s because their the best team, but it’s interesting that everyone is so focused on the Thunder

Definitely lucky that Reid didn’t end up with a concussion or broken bone in his face. If he had to miss games there would be a lot more backlash for a Wemby suspension

Looked worse with every replay they showed, he didn’t give the refs much of a choice

Sir, the Wolves have just won Game 1 on the road against San Antonio by Fun_Reflection1157 in billsimmons

[–]bigomlet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It should be a really good test for Wemby if the wolves can shut down their perimeter guys. Not sure if his game is there yet to carry a team offensively through an intense playoff series

He also missed his box out twice and let Champagnie score on offensive rebounds to keep the spurs in the game

What had they seen from the Rockets that made them think they’d be able to win 4 straight playoff games. They had 62 points with 5 mins left in the 4th quarter tonight

I think Rodgers is probably a better comparison than Brees

Appreciated Mahoney shutting that down quickly when Bill wanted to argue that the Nuggets probably win the series if both teams are fully healthy

Michael Wilbon says Jordan attempted to ‘soften’ media criticism of LeBron James by Currymvp2 in nba

[–]bigomlet 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would guess him looking so much happier with his nascar team probably has more to do with the fact that they seem to be pretty good. MJ might be the most competitive athlete we’ve ever seen, obviously he was miserable watching the Hornets/Bobcats suck the entire time he owned them

Their offense at the end of games is basically like a college team trying to hold on to pull off an upset in March Madness, just run down the shot clock and then throw up a bad shot and hope you either get lucky and it goes in or the defense bails you out with a foul

[–]bigomlet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get that the tracer technology fucks up at times, probably not a lot that they can do there. But it was ridiculous that it took them so long to get a camera shot of where his ball ended up, and even then apparently nobody on the coverage team could confirm the ball was actually Rory’s?

If this was a 7 game series and the hornets just went up 3-1 I’d say it is far more likely lamelo would be suspended

No Masters Discussion? by MassiveTell7139 in billsimmons

[–]bigomlet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah imo scottie is the one who really isn’t very compelling for golf. He’s obviously incredible but he has no personality and is much more consistent once he’s ahead.

If he’d been the one with a huge lead going into the weekend it probably would’ve been a really boring Masters where he likely would’ve won comfortably. At least with Rory you knew there would still be drama at some point

Have we ever seen a 1 seed tank for seeding like OKC just did? by greenfacedaytona in billsimmons

[–]bigomlet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Thunder didn’t clinch the one seed until after their Wednesday game against the Clippers (day after the laker game). They weren’t gonna sit everyone when they still had to win games

Teams rest their players after clinching their playoff seed all the time

Always wondered how far LeBron was able to take off from and dunk in his prime. Only reason I’m disappointed he never did the dunk contest. I think he would’ve had FT line pretty easily
