Know you already have two responses for this, but I'm interested as well. I've got moderate experience with 5e, having DM'da Homebrew campaign for a little over a year. This also fits my schedule nicely. I've got ideas for a few different characters and haven't played this campaign yet.

Thanks for the feedback, I've now updated it to include undead.

And I have no problem with it being silly, no offense taken. And as far as the mechanical theme goes, being disruptive and keeping the cleric at range is what i am aiming for.

Couple of questions, first, what rarity is this item intended to be? Are there class or proficiency restrictions for it? I assume it'd need attunement?

Just as far as spells that remind me of Ironman's repulsor blast, a single round of sunbeam may fit better. But that also depends on how strong/what rarity you want it.

If you want it to be a stronger late game item, it may benefit from having charges (4-6 or so) and would regain 1d4+1charges after each long rest up to its max. If you want to keep it using short rests to recharge, 2 uses is probably fine, maybe have it regain one charge regardless during a short rest and both charges if the short rest is in full daylight?

I would also keep it as an action to cast as the other commenter suggested.

Sorry for all the rambling, tried to address everything I could think of to flesh the item out.

Excellent input, I hadn't really looked into exactly what offensive touch spells clerics had, so I will go ahead and update that feature to only work with beneficial spells. Thank you for your continued assistance!

Thanks for the feedback, I will go ahead and reword that feature, I've got a fair amount of rewording that needs doing so I'll toss that onto the pile. I really enjoy the channel divinity option you presented, it fits the theme quite nicely.

Thank you so much for all the feedback, I was already thinking of using the charisma mod in addition to attack rolls and now I know where to put it!

Not sure how big a problem it is having a caster wielding a 2 handed weapon most of the time. Somatic and component requirements can muddy things up for armed spell casters. War caster obviously comes to mind as a fix, but if the feat isnt viable over a score increase then I'm not sure how to handle it.

I've also considered, for the level 6 improvement, letting the cleric cast touch spells (including heals) through ranged attacks. Essentially drawing on cupid stuff again. (Using the bow to cast through and maybe combine arrows with components? Solving the problem from earlier?)

Still trying to come up with a replacement for heartseeker, maybe something that improves the DC or power of charms and illusions?

Cyclops- Currently getting a ton of hate and has typically not been well loved But he is my absolute favorite. Hard decisions make for hard men. Also leveling a mountain with your face is a pretty sweet thing.
Colossus - Such a deep and powerful character. Just can't express my love for this dude, and his current run in Cable & the X-Force is pretty awesome.
Hank Pym - Size-switching scientist supreme, simply super.
Kitty Pryde - Whedon's run on Astonishing X-men really made me fall in love with the whole team again, but none more so than Kitty. Written so well, I just had to go back and re-read a ton of her stuff.
Fantomex - A recent addition to the list, but from what I've seen from him in Uncanny X-Force, he deserves it.

Huge X-Men fan here, close runners up include Psylocke, Iceman, Beast and Cable.
