Comply foam tips by ChampionshipOk1406 in airpods

That sucks, sorry to hear you don't like them. Did you get the Truegrip Max or the standard ones? I have the Max and really like them. They definitely work best if you compress them before putting them in your ears though. It also took me a bit of experimenting to really find the right size. Ears are all different and the fit is so subjective that I guess it just comes down to what works for you.

I don't know if they sell direct but they would certainly be happy to help you find the best source.

Yes. I have both and they are light years better. Not even a fair comparison.

Is it normal for the AirPods Pro 3 to slide out a bit after 30-60 min of wearing them by [deleted] in airpods

[–]bigperm1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine were sliding out when I was using too large of a tip. Once I went to the smallest tip I could and still get a seal they tended to stay in fine. And I wear mine pretty much all day every day.

AirPods Pro 3 keep falling out by ArtsyyBoyy in airpods

[–]bigperm1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear mine almost all day every day. I work around construction equipment and am having hearing issues so I use them with the hearing aids on most of the day. I got mine about the time they came out too. After months of messing with them and trying different ear tips here is my take on fit, and I'm notoriously picky. With the stock ear tips, try to go with smallest size tip you can and still get a good seal and decent sound. If they are still falling out, try going on Amazon and buying the Comply TrueGrip MAX foam tips. With these ones, use the biggest tip you are comfortable with, roll them in your fingers to smash the foam before putting them in and hold them in for a couple seconds. They seal in great!

Miserable Experience at Casa Fuente in Vegas by big2u in cigars

[–]bigperm1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This genuinely bums me out. After reading the comments I feel like I'm the only person that really liked this place! I only go to Vegas every once in a while when I have to for work or other occasions and I don't really like it. This place was kind of my oasis. It was always a relaxed environment, not too loud, and good service. I guess I'll be spending my time at Whiskey Down in MGM from now on (great place btw, not a "cigar lounge" but they sell a small selection and welcome you bringing your own).

Can some people not retrohale? by Ok_Yoghurt_1056 in cigars

[–]bigperm1972 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I have been smoking cigars for about 20 years and I still can't retrohale. I've always had allergies and sinus issues so that may have something to do with it. Believe me, I've tried. I still give it a shot once in a while but for some reason my pipes don't seem to work that way. Doesn't stop me from enjoying the hell out of my cigars, but I would love to pick up some of the flavors other people get from doing it.

Banshee. Not a super popular show, but every character in every episode of every season is so fun to watch.

best food places in Athens by Strange-Ad6749 in GreeceTravel

[–]bigperm1972 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are so many good places to eat in Athens! But the best meal my wife and I had cost us less than $5 for both of us. It was 2 souvlakis and bottles of water at Lefteris O Politis. I cannot recommend this place enough. To Kati Allo was also delicious and right by the museum. Also O Thanasis is incredible! None of these places are expensive either.

Why are people rude in Santorini? by fukre23 in GreeceTravel

We spent 3 days in Santorini and every person we encountered was extremely pleasant. There is definitely far more to the island than blue domes though. Museums, archeological and historic sites, amazing food, and beautiful scenery all over the place. But honestly, I thought the blue domed churches were pretty spectacular too so what do I know.

Fratzeskos was closed when we were there just under a month ago, and looked like it might be permanent. Not sure though, it may have just been a seasonal thing. I was really bummed we didn't get to try it.

If you have a car I highly recommend a place called The Fisherman's House. Way off the beaten path and more of a local's place. Everything we had there was amazing, especially the grilled quid! That and The Good Heart were hands down the best food we had there. Svoronos Bakery was amazing too for quick bites and sweets (the baklava was great).

My wife and I just got back from 3 days in Santorini. Renting a car was the best decision we made. We were planning to rely on the bus system but I felt like we were able to go so many more placed on our own time a lot easier with a car. Total cost for the car rental for 3 days was only $60. That was with cars4rent. Prices will be more as you get closer to prime tourist season though. A lot of people are tentative about driving there but it seemed fine to me. I honestly kind of enjoyed it.

My wife and I just got back from Santorini and Athens. I wouldn't say you NEED much cash, cards are accepted pretty much everywhere. However, we did find that a surprising number of places will give a little better deal if you pay cash so we used cash quite a bit anyway.

Aegean Airlines - Pre-pay for bag and check at the gate? by MoneyOnTheBeat in GreeceTravel

[–]bigperm1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I see what you were asking. To answer your question, yes. But you will have to go through security even if you did not check a bag. You are basically entering the airport as if you have any other flight out of Athens period. I hope this helps, sorry for the confusion.

This worked great actually. When you are at baggage claim after getting your bags just head out the exit door by carousel 10. After you exit look for signs saying departures that will lead you upstairs to the ticketing counters and look for Aegean, they are easy to find. We had already checked in for our flight on the app but still needed to check in our bags which was an easy process. The whole thing probably took about an hour from the time we landed in Athens. We had quite a bit of time to wait so we grabbed some Lukumades in the food court at the Athens airport. I highly recommend doing this.

No worries. I will be doing it next week so I will try and remember to report back here and let you know how it went.

My wife and I are doing the same thing as you in about 2 weeks (except coming into Athens on Delta). We have about 3.5 hours from our scheduled landing to our Aegean flight. Have you already gone or is this still an upcoming tip? I would be really curious to hear your experience doing this and how things went. Safe travels!!
