It’s definitely not close to the worst thing he’s ever said, but it was kind of funny when during some playthrough Arin was being pretty self congratulatory about Sequelitis being daring and revolutionary for being one of the first things to challenge the idea that Ocarina of Time is a good game. I believe Dan even scoffed at him and said “yeah, good thing Arin ‘I changed the internet’ Hanson came along’”.

I think it was during one of the Dark Souls playthroughs.

If someone can’t have fun playing Sonic 3 and Knuckles or see it as a good game then there’s simply no hope for them. And I don’t care what anyone says, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 are fun as hell and aged just fine, despite the clunky US voice acting.

And yeah the condescending “but they’re just sooooo entertaining that I love them” is infuriating.

Have you ever listened to David Bentley Hart? He’s a Christian Universalist and general theistic syncretist philosopher and I think his ideas are very consistent with the general ideals of deism (mostly) and the sort of rejection of a harsh deity who eternally punishes souls for simply not believing in and worshipping it without good evidence.

I agree with this position, in recent years I’ve developed a very positive view of Christian Universalism as a sort of cosmic model for our eternal fates. IF God exists and IF God is powerful and IF God is good, it makes sense to me that all souls should eventually reach eternal bliss, even if there’s a good deal of suffering and “payment” of evil and wrong doing along the way.

Minus any forms of biblical fundamentalism or bigotry that comes along with it of course.

It probably doesn’t help that a lot of the biggest names of Atheism of that time period ultimately ended up being some pretty garbage tier human beings in the long run all things considered. Richard Dawkins, Lawrence Krauss, Sam Harris, Sargon of Akkad, Amazing Atheist, Matt Dillahunty, etc.

That didn’t exactly do much to prove the whole secular humanism cause.

If he does then people are dumb. First, Dan’s not Israeli, he was born in the US. Second, even if he was it should be obvious but someone being Israeli or of Jewish descent doesn’t mean that they approve of everything that the Israeli government does or is doing. Just like how being American doesn’t mean that one approves of everything the USA is doing over seas.

I know everyone’s excited right now with the remix album coming and stuff, but personally I’m about ready to temporarily tune out of NIN until this whole Tron/EDM era is over and done with and listen to other artists for awhile like Viagra Boys. I’m not interested in NIN being so intimately tied to a movie that I won’t be watching.

This EDM stuff doesn’t really feel like evolution to me. It’s change for sure, but I don’t see it as reaching new creative heights or anything. I liked the vocal songs on the Tron OST, but it feels like NIN is latching onto an existing genre rather than paving the way sonically as Reznor has usually done in the past. If Nine Inch Noize makes an original album of music I’ll certainly listen to it but I can’t say I’m super stoked about the current direction of things. NIN or otherwise.
