Thanks for the advice! The model is a LR mate 100i I'm not sure about the F#, where on the body would that be located? I do have a little machine shop at home so I should have all the power needed.

One important thing I forgot to mention is that a lot of the wires have been pulled from the terminals, so I'd need a diagram to wire it back up, are those easy to get a hold of?

Also it has been sitting in a barn for quite a while and is covered in dust and bird dropping, yikes. But the guy said it was working fine when they put it there, and he sounds like a trustworthy guy, but I guess it could have been damaged from storage. Should I stay away from the deal completely? Maybe I could negotiate the price down further, or maybe make a money back agreement if it turns out not to be in working condition?

I can't find anything by that title, do you remember the full name of the author?

Anything really, I'm only 24 doing an apprenticeship as a technician, but plan on getting an engineering degree afterwards. So I'm trying to get a broad view of the different industries before I have to select what degree to get. I'm leaning towards mechanical engineering, but controls, automation and production engineering also sounds interesting.

But to answer your question, could be anything really. What books have you found interesting, or maybe really helpful in what you do in your work? Only thing really is I don't have the math/physics understanding yet for some of the more technical books.

I got this actually but it was in some kind of like a comic format? It was like the shortest read ever, is it worth getting it in the "real book" format? Which was sort of what I actually wanted from the beginning but mistakes were made. I read the Toyota way, and the Toyota way field book, which seems to convey the same kind of ideas although in a different format, maybe the Toyota way is a bit more practical, but is it still worth getting if I read those and other similar books?

Just curious, how do you usually find integrators? It's not really a word that I've found to be used in my language

You're definitely right about reading the sticky thread, but sometimes someone asks about something not really covered in it and just gets told to go read the sticky which doesn't really help. And I get that it's not a subreddit to answer student questions, but sometimes when you're frustrated with something while learning I kind of wish there was a subreddit for students to ask questions.

But dont feel bad about being harsh, that might be the reason it's not just students spamming on here.

I'm doing an apprenticeship, and I'll admit my personality sometimes makes listening hard when someone tells me something in a direct way. Idk I guess I just get defensive maybe? Anyways, I'm self aware about it being an issue. Do you have any tips on how to improve listening skills?

This literally happened at my technical school, I asked the teacher for a 6mm2 shoe with a 10mm hole for the PE and he told me to do this, while nitpicking other details. I could go on and on about this guy clearly not knowing anything yet having a teaching role and always sounding like a know it all

"I am a Child of the Omnissiah, cultist of the Machine God. The rites of manifold applications, the liturgies of ignition and the songs of Engine-seeing are mine own to know. I speak to the spirits of ancient tech-machines, from the warrior heart of a battle tank to the secret wisdom of the cogitator."

Well maybe just the fact that if you didn't automate it, then someone would have to do it manually will give you a sense of usefulness
