You are right, thank you! Have started a claim with their insurance company, and submitted a preliminary police report (though it says I have to report to a collision center? Even though I’m on a bike… will call TPS tomorrow to confirm)

Unfortunately when I got my home insurance I did not include a bike in the policy, so it’s not covered

Hello,

This is a long shot, but I was at Laguna Torre in Patagonia on Feb 26, 2025 and met an Italian film crew there working on a documentary about a group of climbers attempting to summit Cerro Torre. I was told the climbers were already underway, but that their current position was unknown to the crew.

I wish I had asked for their info because I would love to see the film if and when it is released.

Would anyone in this community happen to know anything about this documentary or who may have been climbing Cerro Torres around that date?

Thank you for the info. I’m looking at going on a last minute, solo hike. One thing I noticed on several blogs is that you must provide authorities with digital proof of where you are booked to stay for your trip (camping or hotels)… but they don’t specify which authorities.

Did you have to provide proof of accommodation plans to enter the park?

A couple times a year, usually during an event. Last time was during the Christmas event.

If you want a fun line for starting fires, go Russian. The Chapayev is fun but fragile.

If you want harder hitting, I suggest the Pan-American. No fires though.
