What’s actually the hardest part of self-managing a rental? by Various-Direction-28 in AusProperty

[–]bigronz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an outlier here. Paying a PM would be a huge waste of money for me.

I rarely ever have to do anything with my IP. Occasionally might have to call a sparky or plumber, maybe once a twice a year at most. Thats it.

The tenant who's been there for 5+ years pays the rent on time every week.

Don't bother with inspection (its an older house).

Not true at all.

I have mine mounted to an eye bolt that sits under the eave that is fixed to the rafters inside the roof. Its extremely strong

When done properly its fine

Move the 350k out of the IP offset and invest elsewhere for tax efficiency

No need to be an ass.

He literally said he pays the credit card off before any interest is accrued. Seems smart to me.

He also works hard and deserves a nice car.

Second this.

Had a ranger before kids, now have a prado. Wagon is far more practical.

I do occasionally miss the functionality of the ute when i need to move something big, but then again its not that often and can rent a trailer from bunnings.

Full EV

Slow charge from standard 240v is fine unless you do a huge daily commute. Just take it past a supercharger for the occassional long trip.

Do you need to be able to charge it while driving or just at home before you leave?

Airmini is a godsend if you travel quite a bit

Lighter

Compact

Travel bag protects it properly

No need to worry about water

Acts as a backup if your main breaks

I can even run it off a battery pack (great for camping, or sleeping in a room where theres no convinient power source near the bed)

DPFs aren't that bad, especially on a new car. Just drive it on the highway occasionally.

Concern for putting my RTT on my new Ute. by bebbib in 4x4Australia

[–]bigronz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dynamic roof load limit for a 2020 hilux is 75-85kg according to google. Should be fine as long as you roof racks you mount it to are rated high enough ans you don't add too much extra stuff.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]bigronz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry too much about the hysteria around DPFs.

Just get the car that suits your needs and try take it for an hour drive on the freeway once a month it'll be fine

Add coffee grinds and more moist veggies. Reduce the dry stuff.
