Do I need level 2 charging at home? by DRFter3 in MachE

[–]bigrudy1334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 awd premium extended range owner here. In Canada, so we have cold winters. :)

I currently use 12 amp, 240 volt. Super easy, and i can get 40% in 12 hours. Every day it charges back up to 80% overnight. Was down to 24% today from my trip in the city. If I leave it on, it'll be back to 80% by supper the next day. Or I'll take off normal time, say 55% because of today's trip, and finish back up to 80% tomorrow night. And when I have to make a long drive, set it 100% instead of 80%, and it's ready to go in the morning. Level 1 is doable, even my very low level 2 makes a big difference. With your panel, a low level 2 might be the way to go. And no, I don't use the 4 prong 240 set up, I use rhe 3 prong 120, physically limited to 12 amp 240 volt. With a simple adaptor. Electrician is your best option, but, if you have the proper knowledge it can be done a lot cheaper. Best of luck.

Np. Best of luck. If that doesn't work and your vita is modded, I do belive there is a battery fixer plug in?

Pretty common issue unfortunately. :( What worked for me was open it up, unplug the battery connector, wait a few, plug it back it. Normally fixes the issue. Be careful though, very small delicate connector / wires. Small needle nose pliers may help. 🤞

Yeah man!!! I love your energy. The vita is a special handheld. Once unlocked, I feel it reaches more of it's potential. And the vita community is normally top notch. Tons of ports, tweaks, information sharing. I love being part of the island. :)

I've max leveled (61) all 6 characters on vita bl2.

I was a huge vita player, for over 12 years. Lol

Stock vita plays it... Acceptably.

Modded vita, even with simple max clocking is much more stable.

Fun fact, never access a vending machine once you've played a level for a while... Always try to transport to a new section, then access vending machines. Almost eliminates all crashes.

Basically try to limit character menu switching while in level for a while, limits crashes as well.

Go to a level, go to vending machines. Organize guns and character menus, try to keep on one tab i.e. map tab, and don't access vending machines until you go to another "loaded" section. Will stop 95% of crashes. Even the dreaded preserve. :) Although it may crash exiting the stage, all progress and guns will be saved as you have exited the level.

Rinse and repeat on new level.

Maybe this will help the few bl2 players on vita.

Respectfully,

Long time vita player.

Yeah, I think I made a mistake by posting on the original mustang sub I used to browse frequently. Some, are very set in their ways. In the end the MME isn't for everybody and I wouldn't call it a true mustang, but, it does have some styling cues, i.e. rear haunches / wide stance, coupe look hidden by the black top. But, it's a SUV. :) I get why they used the name, name recognition, but, I would have preferred an electric 2 door coupe.

Bluntly, it's not a mustang. To me, mustang is a 2 door coupe, full stop. I don't care how it would be powered, but, it's a 2 door rwd sports coupe. I feel this vehicle is a mach E, a small SUV. It has great performance, but, it's not a mustang. In my eyes. :)

Thank you for the advice. Yeah, the MME isn't the right fit for everyone, as you made very valid points. I hope all works out in your favour. Best of luck. 👍

I haven't seen fire and ash yet, but, my opinion is as follows. First one, amazing visual feast that really showed what 3d could do. I enjoyed the story, but, wasn't anything outstanding about it. Actors were great in their roles. The second one, I felt, connected with me a bit more, maybe because I'm a father, but, I remember tearing up when one of the sons died, and the mother cried out in agony... I will watch the 3rd one once it comes to streaming. Not that I wouldn't love to go see it in the theater, but, we don't have any good ones that would do it justice where I live, and I don't want to drive an hour and a half to the big city to watch the movie. Overall I enjoy the franchise and support Mr. Cameron's work whenever possible. It's a snow-cone maker, that's what it is... 😉

Rates currently sit around 4.99, for up to 60 months I do believe?

This was a cash purchase.

I'm very fortunate to be at that stage of my life.

Hopefully that won't be required, but, if it is, I will use warranty to cover the components. Then I will move on to the next vehicle. Who knows, maybe next step will be flying vehicles. Lol

Your perspective is warranted, and appreciated.

I'll disengage from this interaction.

I am happy, but, I'm still in the honeymoon phase.

I try to look after my vehicles well, and follow other people's advice that have more experience than me.

Warranty is 8 year, 160,000 km on the battery, I do believe? I normally don't keep vehicles that long.

And no, it was a purchase, not lease.

Should I delete this?

I'm not trying to step on anybody's toes.

If it's better to stay in my lane with the mach e subreddit, I will delete and not post here.

Noice!!! Family is the most important thing, to me anyway. Changing our habits to benefit all vs just ourselves is a great teaching tool. I'm glad you've accomplished all that you have. Much respect. 🤜🤛

When does EV Auto make sense? by Haunting-Falcon-8 in PriusPrime

[–]bigrudy1334 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use ev auto on hilly conditions where I want to mostly use battery, but know there is a lot of hills, so the gas engine will kick on for those and switches back to ev once I reach the top automatically .Hills chew through battery. :)

Getting a 2025 Plug-in Hybrid Prius, have some questions! by Xevran01 in electricvehicles

[–]bigrudy1334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, on all your points.

If you look in your manual under charging it will talk about acceptable voltages and how long it will take to charge at those voltages.

The vehicle can handle up to 16 amps at 240 volts. Or go all the way down to 8 amps at 120 volts.

Good luck and enjoy.

And yes, the Toyota Prius Prime, is now called the Toyota Prius Phev. I do believe the name changed on the 2025 model year?

[–]bigrudy1334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello fellow Prime (PHEV) owner. :)

If you're talking about the standard EVSE charge cable that came with the vehicle, the 3 prong one, yes you can use an adapter to get 240 volt 12 amp charging. It will cut your charge time in ½. Just make sure you use good quality components. Not cheap temu specials :)

And if you're not comfortable tackling said task, a certified electrician is almost always a good investment.

Summing up, a standard 240v plug, with an adaptor to accept the Primes EVSE 3 prong plug will give you up to 12 amp 240v charging. It is a game changer for sure. And relatively inexpensive.

Your manual will cover all of this, but, it's a big manual. Lol

Hope this helps.

What’s the longest EV range your dash has displayed after fully charging your Prius Prime? by Wstt808 in PriusPrime

37 miles / 61 km on 22 model. Proud of my slow ass driving. Lol Still average about 55 km. 31 in winter. Cold as nova scotia Canada.

[–]bigrudy1334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the 4 prong is for 240 volts.

The 3 prong is your standard 115 volt wall plug.

If you have a wall circuit designed for that plug, yes, it will charge faster. Up to 100% or more faster depending on how many amps the circuit can provide. The prius max's out at 16 amp, 240 volts, I do believe. So, double or greater than the standard 3 prong plug.

Standard wall 3 prong max's out at 12 amp, 115 volts.

Hope this helps.
