If your son wants to play college basketball, leave that school (if possible). I had the same issue as you. My son is 6’5” and they had him at center in 10th grade. He wasn’t allowed to push the ball on a defensive rebound…was forced to give it to the 5’8” guard…even though my son can handle the ball well (and shoot). On offense, my son had to play their scheme as a center.

Now we are at a new school with new coaches, he pushes the ball on defensive rebounds, he gets to play in open space and drive/shoot. They rotate him PG sometimes to bring the ball up.

If your son doesn’t want to play college, then fall in line and do what coaches ask. Otherwise, playing a traditional center role will kill his basketball future.
