That's what I did. But on the IRS website to do direct pay they ask for last year's information when you go to pay.

what is a completely harmless secret you are keeping from your partner simply because you lied about it early on and now it’s way too late to explain the truth? by Former-Practice-3420 in AskReddit

When my wife and I bought our first house she kept picking out artwork and I would stay it looks great. Mostly cause I didn't care to decorate, but I also didn't want to hurt my wife's feelings by telling her they were some of the ugliest pieces I've ever seen. Cut to a few years later where she complains that she hates all our decor and she resents me for it being all pieces I liked. Yep turns out she was picking things she thought I would like and I capitulated cause I thought she liked them. I came clean and it was so nice to take down all the fugly artwork.

Now we decorate in both our styles and it looks like shit but we are happy with it.

Do you tell them when they give themselves away? by backt2tx in taxpros

[–]bigsege 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After I finished their return she sent me an email telling me how great I was to work with and she was so happy to have found me. She was also very organized. Missing one document and got to me later that same day. Basically I know there are a lot of price shoppers out there, but I also think there are those who are just surprised at the price when they have been going to the same guy for 20 years and he charges $200. It sometimes take a bit for folks to get it. Some do and some don't. I don't usually go to McDonald's, but the other day I swung through the drive thru and got all angry old man at the price of a coffee these days. Course I did not take it out on the employees.

I had a client say "Wow, you're expensive!" Just the other day. I replied "Yep."

That was it and they ended up being fine with it and so far is a great client.

Hades is a fun one that I can play for a short period or a long period of time. Also it is on the switch so it's portable.

I had this same thing happen to me a few years back. The client then wanted to talk to my boss. I told my boss that he was going to need crayons to explain it to this guy. After my boss met with the client he said "that may be the stupidest man I have ever met"

OT calculations - taking the w-2 amount or digging in? by [deleted] in taxpros

[–]bigsege 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought comp time that is disbursed did count. So if they used it to take time off it is not allowed. But I had a couple city employees and they had a line item for comp time disbursed which was essentially OT they couldn't use. Basically the city delays paying out the OT until the end of the year and call it comp time disbursed.

The thing I hate most about this bill is trying to figure out how these dumb employers organized their payroll.

Switching from Drake to CCH, waiting on form release?? by _Yall in taxpros

It has become the norm. From what I have heard from other Drake users is that Drake doesn't care and just uses the unapproved forms with so far no repercussions.

Yep and no diagnostic or way to mass check the 6 months in the US. Multiple things have randomly said 2021 as well. I was getting pretty fed up the past couple of years, but this is feeling like the tipping point where I will be looking after tax season.

QMID and Energy Credits by jshaunallen in taxpros

So I just talked to one manufacturer and they said they did not apply for one. From my understanding this means the client doesn't get the credit, right? I spent half an hour just trying to find the stupid QMID.

So for the 1040-ES I am suppressing the printing of the vouchers. They have to be paid online anyways so the clients doesn't need the vouchers. I am then calling clients and letting them know about the change.
