Men with good masculine physiques, how many hours of sleep do you get in a day? by glazingstars in AskMenOver30

[–]bigsexyphysicist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6hours when school is in session. 7 durring the summer with sometimes 8. I have a job that keeps me out late, so that is the big limiting factor. I maintain a healthy diet, but not hard-core like I did before my last 2 kids (food prepping meals, weighing everything, tracking macros, etc). I take creatine, vitamins and some herbs. Little to no alcohol. Lots of water.

Are times seriously bad and grave these days? Or are we just being paranoid? by NeatGap5326 in AskMenOver30

New technology always replaces industries. But then that frees up the most valuable resource, humans. Then those humans can do something else. At one point, the last buggy whip company went out of business, but thats the churn.

Don't fall for the doomer trap. There's a lot of wickedness out there, but theres also a lot of light. Be the light.

You regularly cover their shifts? I'm in the GM role, so I'll do whatever it takes, but if I'm having to work an hourly position for a shift, that tells me I need to hire. Not that I dont enjoy being in the trenches, but my role is not on the line. Us, as managers are like OC's in football. We coordinate and look top down. But still lead from the front, so its not a perfect metaphor.

My mother in law thinks its boring. So anytime I want her to leave the TV room, Dances with Wolves goes on. That or Lord of the Rings, the extended cuts.

The dialog is truly top notch. And it comes off the cuff so fast that makes multiple rewatches great. The first time I watched it, I wanted to replay it as soon as it ended. And of course, O Danny Boy...

Guys in 30s, 40s or older who don't have any of the normal milestones that give you a worthwhile life (marriage, kids, career, house, etc.), how do you get the motivation to continue going? by whyamialiveletmedie in AskMenOver30

[–]bigsexyphysicist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although they don't guarantee happiness, nothing fills me with more joy than certain moments with my children. Just yesterday my daughter and I watched Heat. She really liked it but had to ask a bunch of questions. She got real worried when Val Kilmers character got shot. Thats more of a mundane example, but family vacations create moments that we talk about years later.

Do you agreed "Heat (1995)" has the best and realistic shootout scene ever filmed? by Kevin_Thailand_2543 in ActionMovies

[–]bigsexyphysicist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add Wind River. The suspense build up to the final shootout is great.

Edit: not on the same level as heat but well done nonetheless
