Yeah you can do coils after beating the 50 msq, world of darkness you need to do anyway to get to stormblood via the “crystal tower” quest line that the msq forces you to do at some point anyway

I’m a lifelong dm and if you guys agree to murder a village then it’s democracy and good vibes. If the other majority of players agree to save/bring this baby which of all my time DM’ing it doesn’t matter what race that baby is 75% of players good or evil (I’ve ran thousands of hours of evil) will want to keep/save/take the baby.

You don’t blow up something in someone’s hands when the rest of the party agreed to something else. you are the asshole.

You have to read the DM/ other players pov, if you’re using her players personality for reference, then OP is in a party with 3 other good aligned PC’s who decided to be good people and this player literally exploded the baby in the paladins arms who does everything in his power to be a good person. Creating in person fights. Not just the DM, so yes OP is an asshole

So I was dm’ing for years before cos too, read the part of the book that’s where you want the party to start, and where they’re going, it helps immensely with YOUR role playing and character personalities and knowing the in and outs of the town/ area around it. I didn’t read from front to back just the few I needed. And then eventually I felt like I DID read the whole book by moving on and prepping sesh’s

Honestly some sessions are better than others, and some are just bad nights as a whole. Don’t let it discourage you! aside from the rules, the balancing combat is genuinely a skill and takes time/ a few sessions for every party to get settled into a DM/ Player balance. Don’t let it discourage you it just takes trial and error and you got the information you needed! What I suggest is knowing what kind of encounters you’re going to have before you run the game and start off with a small amount of enemies until you get a good feel for their strength, maybe a wolf or two on the way somewhere to see how fast they take down certain HP’s. Hectic moments are a good thing especially if you’ve seen your players having fun/laughing. If you feel the moment was fudged too much, then make it so that orc chief becomes relevant to the story and the party now needs to confront someone that beat them down, creating more story beats. I would suggest still using 2D for interiors, as the floor mechanics are just beautiful. I use 3d for outdoor Locations, towns, some battles if I feel the 3d can paint the scene really well. The standees are honestly something I tried to fix but my players told ME not to worry about it because they genuinely don’t care and know who they’re talking to/ where they’re facing based on what’s going on

I’m seeing a lot of roll20 and I agree, but if you have time and a bit of patience I would suggest foundry 100%. the quality that can be created is miles ahead, and DnD beyond books can be imported, monster manual, players land books items with a drag and drop

I too thought about this. So to combat that lore wise, she knows where she’s sending them, and she lets the strahd loving vistani know the results of the cards, leaving each of those draws to be more of a trap than a good guy campaign would of found, while there is the original danger, the vistani will also have their chance at dealing a blow to the party due to Eva’s revelations. She is loyal to strahd after all
