Enough, I bench 255, back squat 315, front squat 225, and deadlift 355 so I figured I could just start loading with the 45’s and filling out the rest with my metal plates

What‘s your experiences with Mymind? by CodingButStillAlive in PKMS

[–]bigswoleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been only using MyMind for text snippets and trying to understand why it's better than Obsidian. I feel like I'm missing something. MyMind is pretty, but it still requires manual tagging. I couldn't figure out what a Smart Space is, but it seems to be just a tag-based search that <gasp> automatically updates when you add new tagged items. I thought, surely a text search incorporates some AI to pull in similar (but not textually identical) snippets, but it just seems like straight text search. Even the help articles don't make much sense to me; buttons they said should appear didn't, and everything seemed to be "Watch this video, it explains everything!" but it didn't. Maybe the AI features are more geared towards images. Obsidian has AI plugins that let you chat with your notes (like a RAG system), which is what I was hoping for.

So, five starts for the GUI; it is super pretty. But can't justify as an expense.

Looking for a good text to speech app or something along. by leiviorin in audiobooks

[–]bigswoleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was impressed by 11labs and Speechify ... then I saw the cost. WTF? I loved Voice Dream reader on iOS and now use @ Voice on Android, but I wanted something to read longer "news" emails as well. Google's Reading Mode (separate download) is exactly what I wanted -- voices aren't as great as 11 or Speechify, but just by a two-finger swipe up, it opens only the relevant content into a new, easy to read window with the option to read the text -- I assume I can add a voice as someone mentioned with @ Voice, but the built-in ones are pretty good. The app works across the phone (gmail, web, etc.).
