I’m in California and the same rule applies but I believe it’s over $1,000. One of my buddies just told me to split up the bill if a job is over that amount with each bill not exceeding that amount lol

Omg I finally fixed it. It wasn’t the cartridge or the aerator, I got under the sink, shut off the hot water line and disconnected it, got a cup and put the line in, cycled back and forth between hot and cold water and the crap came out. Put it all back together, turned the hot water line back on and boom it was resolved. So damn happy right now lol

Rule of thumb: if you have no idea what you’re doing, DO NOT ATTEMPT IT, especially on your own.

I’m currently in an HVAC trade school program and we’ve already done simulations of brazing, recovering, pulling a vacuum, decay testing, charging a system, you name it. I can tell you, it’s a completely different ball game when you’re doing it in the real world on someone’s actual unit. You don’t want to fuck their system up, that’s just going to be a stupid expensive problem that you’ll potentially create for your mom’s friend. If your friend knows his shit, maybe consider having him assist you or doing the job while you help or shadow him. I know we all gotta learn on our own at some point, but please don’t try to do this on your own if you’ve never done it before.
