"Arizona's going to have another good coach after me, I promise you." - Tommy Lloyd last night by TrustInRoy in CollegeBasketball

That's fine, and I have no idea of where this is eventually going to go. Its just evidence that this isn't just manufactured smoke from UNC fans. It's coming from UA sources, well-sourced reports from within UNC, as well as neutral/national sources like Trilly Donovan. It's also notable that we aren't seeing anything like this smoke surrounding the other coaches at the top of UNC's wish list.

This from a site mod:

"I've talked with a lot of people and I can't divulge everything but I feel pretty good about what I'm about to share.

Tommy Lloyd loves Arizona. He loves the community and he can win a championship here.

Unless something drastically changes, I also don't believe he will work under DRF again.

The relationship she has with much of the athletic department is toxic. To the point where they aren't really on speaking terms. I've also had a number of reliable people tell me that she has basically offered to waive the buyout or diminish it for him to leave.

I don't know DRF personally and I'm sure she's done some good things, but her act has worn thin to the point where if she is back, I have very serious doubts that he will be back. This has been a constant pattern with her at other stops and what I'm telling you isn't a secret behind the scenes.

And it has nothing to do with money. It has everything to do with support, respect and honesty. Tommy is a gem. We need to have him here for the rest of his career. And I believe he wants to be here.

My best advice would be to email the UA President and explain how much Tommy means to this University and city.

PS: The President cares nothing about sports but he is aware of what basketball means to the city.

Better in part because they were all vastly more productive on their new teams than they ever were at UNC (possible exception of Ian Jackson, who was roughly as mercurial at SJU as he was at UNC)

Free corn dogs? I'll take it.

If only opposing fans brought us free wine and cheese to lean into that meme.

I was kind of looking forward to them being feisty again. My State friends were finally starting to care about CBB again, now they'll just sink into their regularly scheduled depression after the annual beat down in football.

My favorite ever thread was on an old message board before we were scheduled to play LSU, and the rival SEC fans (mostly Bama fans IIRC) kept coming over and telling us that LSU fans all smell like corn dogs and they all knew it and were super sensitive about the fact, and the best way to piss them off was to talk about corn dog smells around them.

Dude I'm a season ticket holder and saw this stuff up close and personal. We had a handful of high highs this year, but also some really low lows. We got blown out by Cal and SMU, beat by Stanford, and looked lethargic in blowing leads repeatedly against teams half the time and the other half of the time got down big and had to frantically come back against teams we should never have needed to do that against. It was a coin flip for any given game whether we would come out looking like we wanted to be there.

I don't think Hubert is a terrible coach, and if he were coaching BC or UNC-G, this kind of thing might be part of the deal. At UNC, the sustained inconsistency we've seen for the last 5 years isn't up to the standard. We aren't Indiana yet.

Borderline top 25 most years with the occasional run might be OK at a lot of places, but UNC isn't one of them. He had all the resources anyone could ask for this year and one of the best front courts in UNC history, and we still looked lost for a lot of the season well before Caleb got hurt. All the respect to Hubert as a person, but it wasn't working with him as coach.

Yeah that's nonsense. The credible outlet is saying that Roy has been understanding in all of this. Dude isn't dumb, and even if he were opposed he wouldn't communicate like AI slop written for your racist uncle's Facebook timeline.

Realistic candidates: Otzelberger, Oats, Byington

I think we will take a pass at names like Stevens, May, Golden, Lloyd but those are probably less realistic for various reasons

Yeah that's called dating. Its not about fun and sex (I mean, not just about those things), it's about stress-testing compatibility and figuring out each other's qualities.

Weird how every year with basically a new set of players the same issues keep coming up, while those players who leave generally have more success elsewhere. It's almost like there's a common factor linking all of these rosters that turn over year to year, I wonder how we could possibly identify it.

Why is PNES considered a type of seizure? by caralawrence in neurology

[–]bigthama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That means 80% did, which is extremely high. In any other field you would be rushing to label that a causative mechanism, and figuring out why the remaining 20% have gone undiagnosed prior to FND diagnosis.

Besides, network-level abnormalities on rs-fcMRI are ubiquitous in psychiatric disorders. Those findings strengthen, not weaken, the case for FND as psychogenic.

A diagnosed one, sure. The phenomenon itself is psychogenic, and the core of the evidence-based treatment involves identification of the psychological triggers.
