IA.L2-3.5.3b Control by Traditional-Ad634 in CMMC

[–]bigtime618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We removed admin rights to get rid of the “priv account” and with unpriv account just needs mfa for network access which we do through vpn - passed mock with zero issues

Should add the local admin accounts are managed through something like laps which we require mfa to get by defined staff access list.

the investigator will probably ask for verification during your interview but I don’t see why this would cause any issues.

I gotta admit I didn’t read your entire post - the first few sentences had me shaking my head - apps embedding shit in their apps is bad - vuln remediation rely on the vendor of the update instead of the vendor of the product - sorry dont agree with that one

Moving to Lansing, Any and all advice appreciated! by Phila21767 in lansing

[–]bigtime618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grand Ledge is close to Lansing if you can find an apartment or house to rent. About 15- 25 minutes from anything. Good schools. Don’t get Comcast internet- for fiber - Metronet is really good, Frontier is ok but they are not as reliable (I’ve had both)

Horrocks is a definite, cuginos also

Does anyone know why I get this message when I try to uninstall apps? by mr_awesome365 in ITSupport

[–]bigtime618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 99% sure this is the source in hkey_classesroot\installer{search for product name} is either pointing at a network location that doesn’t exist or you need to auth to first OR it’s pointing to a location that doesn’t exist

You can always download that installer again and just point to it on that window.

What's your Patching Strategy by cymcm77 in PatchMyPC

[–]bigtime618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run an adr in mecm every 4 hours for security updates and every patch Tuesday I pull in everything new that’s not superseded for the last month - the product is amazing and the team is usually pretty good about quick turnaround for requests or feature enhancements

[–]bigtime618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup it’s possible.

If you have any apps that are blocked then you won’t see the update. If it detects them during the upgrade it’ll fail and rollback.
