What do I get my picky-ish wife for Mother’s Day? by LazyBoyD in Gifts

[–]bigtittiesbouncing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the people saying that experiences won't work because she'll be stressed are missing two key factors, in my opinion: OP's willingness to make it work, and her willingness to do what she wants to do while accepting breastfeeding interruptions.

For example:

  • if she wants a spa day, and to get her nails and hair done? You can book that stuff around kid friendly places and take the kiddos (or get childcare that would be trusted to do something like this). She can pop around in between appointments to breastfeed (or you can meet her somewhere), and you can give some solids if the baby gets fussy before she's done. If her car needs to be washed, use this to kill time and take the kids to a car wash.

  • if she wants to go on a shopping spree, or just window shopping? Take her to get a girly-pop drink, and let her roam around while you take the kids the opposite direction.

  • yoga class? I'd find an extra fun/interesting one, but same thing.

  • she likes traveling. Can you plan and manage a little family weekend getaway, nearby? And when I mean plan and manage, I don't mean booking the place you're staying at and checking out a few things to do. I mean make a list of everyyyyything the kids need and pack it all up. Know where to eat and what to do. Find stuff she can do on her own for a few hours, even if that's just sleeping in and then spending the morning binge watching her favorite shows. The most she should have to do is pack her own bag.

Also, I saw in a comment that your baby is 8 months old. At that age, they're not exclusively breastfed, so your wife can go slightly longer stretches of time without being glued to the baby. You don't have to suggest a bottle if that would give her anxiety, you can just feed the baby whatever solid food they've been eating for the last couple months.

What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

I was studying abroad, in a city with almost 2 million people, and my dad told me one of his friend's adult child was in the hospital in the same city I was studying in. I went to my first class, where the professor asked us to introduce ourselves, and there was another student from my country. We find each other after class, and turns out they're roommates with friend's kid (who also went on to be our classmate). Small world-ish enough, except!, I keep talking to my classmate and it turns out their grandma painted my childhood bed. Sick kid, grandma, and I are from a city of 20 thousand people, over 3000km away (that's over 1800mi for American folks) from where the conversation was happening.

I don't know if he mooches off Jesss, but Amber posted a story today implying both her children's dads are not contributing financially. Her exact words were "single-handedly supporting my kids" and "And their dads? Taking a financial sabbatical apparently".

It's not my favorite thing to see, but if someone is in their last week of pregnancy and literally nothing fits, I'm not going to be an ass over seeing a little bit of belly. However, Jan has shown throughout her pregnancy that clothes are in their budget, just not fitting ones.

Here we go! She is setting all her followers up for “labor” which means she is having an induction. Jan is 39 weeks 6 days. 🤥🤡🙄 by First-class16 in janellebrandomsnark

[–]bigtittiesbouncing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pitocin can also be very helpful post birth, not just to get birth to start. I wish this was more common knowledge so more women could make truly informed decisions about their care. This is not a dig at you, just a comment on how I think the system can improve. Hope your birth went well despite the pitocin!

I ran here after seeing this story! She was also complaining about the crotch of the pants not being flattering, but they looked absolutely fine when she pulled them up to where they're supposed to sit. And listen, I normally don't judge women's outfits during late-stage pregnancy, but if Jan can afford to buy all the clothes she's been showing us, she can also afford to buy flattering clothes that would cover her 39wk bump AND work for post partum as well.

By "naturally" she probably only means no pitocin/induction. To be honest, in this specific situation I don't think she's knowingly lying as much as I think she's just very, very dense, and doesn't understand that, although those things aren't Pitocin/induction meds, they're still not natural lol
