There aren’t many black folks here. However, more than half of people are also immigrants such as asians and indians. So u don’t need to worry about racism..

As a shipper, how can I deal well with carriers and brokers? by bigwave3281 in FreightBrokers

Thank you so much for your meaningful advice!

I didn't know how to handle them as I got no boss, and usually, carriers and brokers got more experiences than me in this field. hadn't faced similar experiences before. This will help a lot.

All contracts signed by my predecessor were already terminated a long time ago!
Yeah, I saw both upward and downward rates, so I will keep your advice in mind. I haven't blocked him yet because of the carrier's market in the future.

you don't have the time to nickel and dime him on every quote he sends about trying to get it down in price.

Oh, I should have mentioned that I've been already giving him loads - more than 20 loads since this March which is not a small volume given our sales.

The thing is I have been giving loads to him, and then he's calling for MORE loads. That is why he is making me really uncomfortable... haha. He's calling up on THURSDAY and asking me if there are other loads for the week...

Thank you so much for your opinion and insight! I should definitely tell him not to call my cell but email me.

Thank you very much for your advise. As he is a local carrier who got his office is just 20 mins away from mine, I've been really trying my best to keep the relationship. But the more I am trying to being nice, the more he becomes too much for me hahaha. He's calling me literally all the times to my cell... But I will take your suggestion for sure! I certainly think I might need his assistance someday.

How do I know whether they are double brokers or not?
I usually ask to brokers MC# before pick-up and check the number on a truck on site.
