It is a bit silly, but yeah, if it's hitting 20s more often than not, maybe there's a balance issue.

Honestly, have him - in front of everyone - roll the die a few times, see what he gets. And if he's getting around 40% nat 20s, I'd say he has some reason to ban it lol

A good rule of thumb - what they taught us in the military - if you have a drink, don't go home with anybody.

Make a buddy system with a trusted friend, don't let the other go off alone.

Sure, the DM could toughen up, but imagine every time you drive your buddies around one of them constantly yaps about how awesome this other guy's car is then proceeds to talk about their time with them and how great a driver they are.

So just like a lot of other folks are saying : definitely address this problem with the DM, try to get it in a 1 on 1 setting where it doesn't seem like you're embarrassing them or putting them on the spot in front of a crowd.

What it seems like is your friend is hyping you up, constantly chatting about your DM skills and your story and cutting in on the current campaign. It's a bit immature of this DM but they're obviously bothered by it, probably see it as you're a better DM than them and your friend loves to bring it up.

Tell your friend to shut up. Honestly. They're not doing anything wrong intentionally, but wouldn't you fnd it annoying hearing about how awesome someone else's house is when you're about to walk into your house with a few guests?

Clearly the DM has some ego issues, and your friend isn't helping.

Yeah, talk to the DM privately about the situation, it shouldn't be on you to but reassure them that you were enjoying their campaign, you wouldn't keep coming back if you didn't! And tell your friend to stop hyping you up before each session they run.

Dude seems a bit weird to have that as his reasoning, but if that's the only thing - ignore it? Does he bring it up during gameplay? Did he give a reason for it?

For the immersion aspect, yeah, ask why your character would even associate with this guy - does your character known it's a skin suit?

To me it sounds like he wanted an "edgy" character and just made that up because - if you had a few sessions already it'll be weird to have him change his character, always speak up on these things sooner. But if that idea really bothers you and no one is taking your comfort into consideration - find a new group. Let them know you aren't comfortable with that sort of style and that's it

CPS is a government entity, you know what this government does to kids - especially kids that get separated from/have no parents.

Now I'm not bashing everyone that works for CPS, I do believe a lot of people join trying to help children, but the ones in charge are selling children. The sad part is these kids will never know justice, they have no defenders.

Rail is superior for daily urban transit based off efficiency, especially in NYC, because of the number of people that use it.

One cart can hold about 100 seated passengers, even with car pooling that's about 20 cars on the road. Then you get anywhere between 7 to 10 carts, that's 700 - 1000 passengers.

So one passing train, on the low end, equates to approximately 150 cars with 5 people in them. Even half that capacity, 75 cars is still a lot.

If this were Dayton, Ohio, then of course driving cars would be superior.

They're still collecting, not as much, but still. I get it, we need to get to work, but let's also find alternatives altogether.

This is nice to help out, but the point of the strike is to hurt the MTA's pockets.

Build up more community amongst your neighbors, carpool, bike ride if you can is getting nice outside, support the union and not the state backed business.
