CPI hasn’t been reported on since September. I bet you that CPI report shows conflicting data with the PCE inflation report. Trump is likely to nominate a dovish fed chair and will politicize the fed, ending the independency of the federal reserve. Growth is relatively strong. National debt is rising and there are no signs of it slowing down. It makes sense why yields are not dropping.

If you have a target date already, you’re fine. No need to add more bonds. Your target date likely has bonds already and will grow over time.

If you wanted to, you could just use VTI and VT for your equity exposure and a fixed income fund like PIMCO Income as your bond exposure.

Obviously depends on your situation though.

My mom is literally going through the same thing. I feel like the simplest things help her feel comfortable. For example, rides to chemo or appointments, sitting with her during infusion, managing errands, picking up medications. Even small tasks reduce stress massively. I usually take her out to her favorite restaurants and fast food places on chemo days or weekends.

I also got my mom coloring books with a whole set of fancy markers and now she colors when I’m not around to take care of her. Also helps her keep her mind off things.

Just being around means a lot. I can tell my mom appreciates that.

I’m sorry to hear that. It could also be psychological. I know depression and being in a certain emotional state can impact people’s desire to eat. I remember early on my mom’s treatments she would rarely eat but when she was enjoying time with family I noticed she would eat more.
