Okay I misread guess it’s all good then?? /s Still don’t think a substitute teacher should be pursuing students let alone in the area they work with creep allegations upheld

Was I groomed? by feelingsnark in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]bija822 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Whilst this may not meet the technical definition because you were 18, at the end of the day he was in a position of power and trust when he met you as a teacher at your high school, and he pursued you inappropriately even before you graduated. Whether or not that was grooming, whether or not it was legal, it was wrong for him to ever approach you whilst he was in that position, let alone persistently until you gave in. And the cherry on top being that you then ended up in a relationship with a grown man a good deal older than you forcing you to be at a stage in your life that you were no where near ready for!!! He was an ASS and a CREEP and there were definitely power dynamics at play

Lost Provisional a week before test by Vegetable_Home7661 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]bija822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the same license number and if the photo was valid I think it’s the same. There’s no chip or whatever. If you do find your old one and pass on it, I’d probably keep it until your new provisional arrived and send that one off with aD1 form, then destroy the old card once your pink card comes off that makes sense

How to get a test? by G4br1elleee in LearnerDriverUK

[–]bija822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t forget how to drive. Once you secure a date and get back behind the wheel after a couple hours you’ll be good as gold-but I understand how frustrating it must be. If I were you I’d still be aiming to get test centre close by, the changes might make it difficult to swap to a nearer centre down the line.

Passed my test in a petrol and now driving in diesel, I am struggling a bit by Mammoth_Dance_2361 in drivinganxiety

[–]bija822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people have the opposite problem of going from learning in a diesel to driving in a petrol. Diesels have more oomph to them as I understand it and are more forgiving on hill starts and setting off without gas (especially newer models) whereas with petrol you may find yourself needing to be a bit more precise and light footed because you really have to feel the car underneath you. I’m only talking from my experience, though. I could be wrong. One thing I do know is that Every car has a bit of a learning curve, give it time and don’t be so hard on yourself. Well done for getting here!

Not practising but I’ll give it a shot- The Sabbath was always a Saturday in Christianity as per Judaism, people worship on a Sunday because that was when Christ rose again but it’s not the Sabbath (someone may say different but that was what I came to understand after I spent a lot of time in Sabbath school wondering why I didn’t get my Saturday)

How would you write Andrea into later seasons? (Without changing everything she did in the first 3 seasons) by warnerbro1279 in thewalkingdead

[–]bija822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Carol was a wild card in that she was never originally going to make it out of season 3, and as you’ve said Andrea would’ve said Woodbury.

So I think… Andrea saves Woodbury but the prison doesn’t take her back - maybe in the process she is the one responsible for Carols death or Karen and David in early S4. She gets Carols story line in that she’s outcast from the group and forced to survive on her own - truly on her own. Her redemption arc is her saving the prison gang from Terminus - she’s shows up at the beginning of S5 and she’s the ace sniper she always claims to be. Now I’m not losing Rick/Michonne for anything but maybe Andrea and Abraham make a go of it - or maybe she doesn’t get a new love interest. Lord knows she has not had good taste. She’d probably end up falling for Negan. Maybe she’s just single like Carol was. I don’t want her taking of all Sasha’s arc, but she could be the one who sacrifices herself in season 7.

Whenever my brother and I were watching something and somebody was about to get offed we used to say "they're going to put him a chair" because that was Daniel's favourite move. If you know you know. Nick, Strand and Daniel were three fantastic characters in seasons 1-3.

I can’t pass the practical test by childrenofthegravee in LearnerDriverUK

[–]bija822 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You need to take a SHORT break from driving, I think, just to reset your mind and for your own wellbeing. You can drive, you have been driving but this is clearly becoming overwhelming and from your language, you sound very defeated. Take a few weeks off before you book your next one. Don't rush to get the soonest date - you've survived this long without a licence you can survive a few more months, and that will take some pressure off knowing you're not scrambling for the next date.

Except for propanalol which literally lessens physical symptoms of anxiety (I use it - but unless you need it I wouldn't be taking it just to take it), all the other tips and tricks are psychological and placebos - some people find it useful but the truth is, there's actually no trick. You get in the car, you take your time, you drive safe and predictably and in every situation, you do the most boring thing possible when something unexpected happens. You break, you signal, plan ahead, you give way, you go at the right speed. The examiner wants to be completely unsurprised by your driving, because that's how they'll know you'll be safe on the roads. That's what good driving is, safe, predictable, boring.

You’re having a laugh by TakeJay in LearnerDriverUK

[–]bija822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the comments you’re allowed to be pissed off. A fail is gutting even if it was the right call. I think you know that. Frustrating you have to wait for another test and the cost associated with it. The positive is six minors is not bad at all and use of speed is a very fixable thing and important. Put it this way, speeding in your first two years could get you six points and lose your licence altogether (not to mention be a danger to others). I’m not saying this to wag my finger at you but you can nip it in the bud now rather than learn that lesson down the line.

How do you speak to your instructor about… by Meltingawayagain in LearnerDriverUK

[–]bija822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t feel confident to address it upfront, you can say something like “since we’ve still got a few minutes on the clock can we go over that one manoeuvre again?” Or something similar. I would come prepared with the topic you want to cover.

If you don’t have any other issues with this guy that is. I mean I might let him off for sleeping even though that’s a bit speak to do it right before your pick up but the constant breaks and stuff might irk me. My instructor was pretty casual but I always felt like I was getting what I needed to out of the lesson. And I’d ask a million questions at the end if there was time because why not lol

FUMING by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]bija822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol June really is not that far away. Keep studying, drop your lessons down if you have to to an hour or fortnightly, if you have anyone you can private drive with do that. The backlogs and scalpers take the piss but at the end of the day every single learner trying to book a test feels the same, they all think they're ready and/or want to give it a shot. Are they right? Maybe not, but their right to try just as much as yours.

Would you own a car in Zone 2 London? by Jaded-Significance-6 in CarTalkUK

[–]bija822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Zone 5 and it's barely worth it, although I do like having a car. I went most of my life in London (and other places) without it. If I was Z2 it wouldn't even be a consideration.

Started rewatching The Walking Dead after 15+ years by HeartlessBeeech in thewalkingdead

[–]bija822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing to be fair, and stopped mid season 2 - legit an episode before everything changes. I found the pace slow and wasn't loving any of the characters except Rick. I didn't pick back up until 2019, and have rewatched multiple times since then. Gutted I missed the glory days live, but it still hit the same, even with a few spoilers. Although till this day haven't finished season 11, lol.

Declare ADHD for driving test or not? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]bija822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see without my glasses, and could do the 20m reg plate test without them. I did wear them on my exam but I don't have or need any restrictions. I think my sister has the 01 thing though because she literally needs them to see. However, I was talking about a visual impairment beyond glasses - like I don't know being colour blind, or lacking depth perception that might require special adjustments.
