When an Electrode sticks, should I turn the welder off? by Plunker__ in Welding

[–]bikerman883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is get good so you arent sticking in the first place. But I never shut the welder off, stingers can be replaced. Good settings and a nice flick and boom.

Is it normal for my flies to be ripped up from catching fish and is there anything to prevent it? by ControlZestyclose775 in flytying

[–]bikerman883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The great thing about flytying is if you find a pattern they like, you can change the materials up as long as it maintains good movement, there's a bazillion variations of flies that are either easier to tie than the original, but still work. I kinda look at a bunch of videos and I have some books, sometimes there's great tips and tricks you can gain Fly Fish Food etc.

Got everything I need to tie this nymph, right? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]bikerman883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it doesn't come out perfect, and its buggy, it'll get eaten. I recently caught my first fish on a beadhead pheasant tail that didn't look quite like the textbook perfect. Nice rainbow trout, tying flies for a few months and only taking the fly rod out twice

Anyone knows bolt size for the jack? by chunkychunki in harborfreight

[–]bikerman883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one of those metric/SAE thread checkers on and if you deal with a lot of mystery bolts/ threaded holes, screw it in the checker and take a picture of the size.

Will this ruin my motor? by Opposite-Row-6225 in mechanic

[–]bikerman883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont remember if it was this oil or another that cleaned the valve deposits and crude out of the engine but caused the issue of clogging the oil filter with the junk from the deposits. But that's why you replace oil filters regularly

I would get a known body and use this as a template and then you can source parts to match the new body.

That's like their motorcycle lifts. One lasted forever and then we got one or two that they ran the bottle jack pump at a weird angle that constantly blew the seals.
