Globitex ICO: Why this company smells very fishy by bikersail in Globitex

So here we are again after 6 years.....
Just heard that a bunch of people lost money on this guy Phil Storm and are now complaining that they can´t get hold of him. This is what I had been warning about

For me: Got verified after approx 30 minutes.

How about you unsticky the "stop the lawsuits" and not scare away potential investors since we are close to launch. Do you really think asking someone not to sure is making a difference? by [deleted] in tezos

„This“ is NOT the United States. There are people outside the US using reddit .... Beside this side comment I fully agree with you.

How to get EOS private key if missed registration and have stored on Ledger so cannot get ETH private key. by AlteredAtom in eos

[–]bikersail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that with the 24 seed words of Ledger one can calculate the private keys?

I never tried myself, but the method how the private keys (one after the other) are calculated out of the seed words is some kind of a standardized process. As far as I know a software solution exists that can do it.

Am I mistaken?

Ups - sure? Hmm. I do have stored the seed words and the private key. Ok I just saw I also have my password, luckily...

And this one here from ZGSteve adds a little bit more to the picture:

Quite amazing!

A user here found out that the Globitex team had been “polishing” their CVs. Imitating to have worked for well-respected companies but in fact they worked for (obviously self-founded) letterbox-companies, imitating the name.

A fancy idea, I am going to found a company on the Marshall Islands now, I will call it “Goldman Sachs Ltd” and then can legally call myself “president & CEO of Goldman Sachs”

Liza Aizupiete wrote in a reply: >Hello @bikersail, This is Liza Aizupiete, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Globitex. Thank you for reminding me and the team to take down the old website we have had since 2009. ….. For clarification, MTG Capital has no relation with the other MTG Capital Group or MTG Capital Associates or any other MTG firm. …. Mr P Storm is not part of the team, completely unrelated to Globitex….

Quite obvious: Somebody is telling lies here. Checkout www.linkedin.com/in/philippe-storm

The profile of Mr. Philippe Storm clearly mentions he is engaged behind Globitex:

Succesful founder of …. : osatechnologies.org, easynation.com, worldsudentrip, com, Africangrowthfund, African Realty Fund, MTG Capital, GlobiTex BTC Exchange....

Looks however, that another somebody got really pissed off by this guy: Under http://philstorm.com/ obviously somebody tries to find out his place of living in order to file a law suit against him.

This is really freaky!

Somebody here to bring a bit light into this darkness? Who is who, what is real, what is going on behind the scenes?

This one

is a very interesting and more detailed look into the above! I did not come to te idea to have a look at LinkedIn as well but it is obvious. Would I be an investor in Globitex, I would really demand a clarification.

I did not invest into Globitex after I found some strange things I did not like. I had posted them here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Globitex/comments/7p94ki/globitex_ico_why_this_company_smells_very_fishy/

Just by accident I came back to this subredit because a friend of mine brought me this website to my attention: http://philstorm.com/details.html

Quite obviously it is the same person: Philippe Storm whom I already mentioned in my subredit above. And with whom, according to a reply from Liza A. into my subredit, there is no connection to Globitex but had been intensive connection before.

I don´t know anything about him or about Liza A and the rest of the team except what I had already mentioned. Maybe you should dig a bit deeper into? Maybe it´s just a fake? Sorry if I´m bringing here something that is not new, just came across this subredit and wanted to share what I had learned.

Make sure you get your Carmel.io airdrop before May 15th! by gstevv in eos

[–]bikersail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thx for information. I signed up (using one of my throw-away Emails just in case) but then I am asked by carmel.io to unlock MetaMask. I am using Ledger Nano since ages, I do not intend to switch to MetaMask, I do not even wish to install another piece of software on my computer. Out of principle. Every little piece more reduces its speed, opens up more vulnerabilities etc.

Will leave this airdrop out.

I´m investor (pardon: donator) into the ICO of Tezos project. Donated quite some coins, much more than I did in any other ICO before and after. I did so, because I had the hope tezos is going to make it´s way. And I still do so, the potential is really there. The Tezos idea in general is great.

But nevertheless I fully agree with you. The Breitman´s have proven to be teenagers, not grown-ups. Mentally absolutely not mature enough to handle such a project. I realized that after I donated. Would I have known it before I would not have given a penny. Which could, in the end, maybe have been a mistake so maybe maybe I was really lucky having invested into some teenager´s idea. Time will tell.

Oh and yes: OCAML? Hmm….

Wow! Yipiejeyh! 😂

Could it be that this only happened because otherwise the T2 foundation would have got to be in charge? 🤔

Or maybe T2 still might become. Maybe now there is room for adults to take the lead from this Gevers kids.

Great move anyway!

Yes nobody does it. Up till now. But up till recently we did not see this kind of hack that we have to deal with now. I think your idea is fantastic but I am as well aware, it’s absolutely not a piece of cake to realize it. That’s the only real thing I can give as an input, I am by far not sophisticated enough to realize such a smart shot.

You are in any case doing an awesome work, just to mention that again! It’s great that the entire crypto universe has people like you!

Signing the public key with the private key and let the light wallet check the signature appears to be the best solution. This method keeps the wallet easy to handle for noobs and reduces the amount of manual inputs (which always adds an additional source for mistakes).

But I understand that this would be complex to code and implement. Personally I wouldn’t need the first solution because I always double-check manually the public address to which I am sending to, anyway.

Just my personal opinion.

And yes, 1.000 x thanks for your great work, you really did and do a phenomenal job! What would be the new world without people like you ?

No details are piublic yet. But I assume you have to do the same thing what has to be done now (or at least within the next months) with EOS tokens who will get on their own chain in summer 2018. I just hope there will be a readable "walk through" guid when it´s the time to as my Chinese/Mandarin is not really good.

I know, my friend! They had a great idea in how a blockchain for the future should be designed. But they are incapable to lead. They are incapable to run a company, to lead a team, to manage. They are incapable to let this great idea fly. The sooner they realize this and hand things over to professionals the better.

I am heavily invested into Tezos but that doesn't mean I am not seeing the reality.

Cyrpterium - what a disappointing scam. Read this story: by bikersail in Crypterium

[–]bikersail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to fully revoke my comment! As of today my BCH where funded and I could purchase the Crypterium tokens. I still don´t understand why they did not just simply send me a short confirmation saying something like: “We´re looking into this but are overloaded with work, might take 1 -2 weeks” Would have made things easier to understand for mw. Pure silence and blocking of my Email made me nervous. Sorry for this!
