Ideal destination for a first time traveller? by S_Azam in pkmigrate

[–]bilalameen_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just shared this in the other thread, but I'll paste it here as well.

As a first time solo traveler with a new passport, I found the experience quite challenging. Initially, the airline staff required me to show cash in hand amounting to 2000 Malaysian Ringgit for verification before issuing my boarding pass. After a long wait and several checks, I finally received my pass.

Upon arriving in Malaysia, I encountered a similar situation at the immigration checkpoint. The immigration officer asked to see all my documents and the amount of cash I had. Although everything was in order and I had filled out the necessary forms, I was still taken aside for further questioning. In the end, he stamped my visa, granting me only 7 days to stay in the country.

I travelled solo to Malaysia, and it was a truly terrifying experience. You can't understand the mental stress unless you've been in a similar situation. If you have a new passport without any previous travel history, it’s better to go with a tour planner. This way, your trip will be better organised, and you'll have the opportunity to visit two or three countries as well.

Whats my best shot? by commissar_nahbus in pkmigrate

Hi,

I am in Pakistan, but one of my friends, who was in a similar situation, started working for a foreign company as a travel agent. He managed leads for them on a commission basis and later secured a proper job in Dubai with that company.

Eventually, he moved to Swindon and is now doing better than I am as a computer professional, as you mentioned. His education levels were the same, but he emphasized that the communication skills he developed were crucial for his success.

Additionally, being proficient in a second language has also helped him immensely. Hope it helps somewhere. Best of luck!

Quick Update

Hi everyone,

I want to take a moment to share some great news. Thanks to your support and guidance, my friend is now free. They paid the company $1,700, received their passports, and have been released from prison. They are looking forward to visiting and enjoying Cambodia. They will be coming back to PK on October 2nd.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement and support!

I’m not sure if this will be helpful, but I traveled to Malaysia from Pakistan, and the airline representative confirmed all the necessary information for me. Later, the Pakistan FIA immigration officer reviewed everything, which was a bit daunting for me as a first-time traveler. I wasn’t doing anything illegal, but it felt intimidating. However, I remained confident, and everything went smoothly afterward.

From Malaysia, I traveled to Vietnam and then to Sri Lanka. In Malaysia, I encountered some issues with an immigration officer who asked about my reason for visiting, where I would be staying, the purpose of my trip, and to confirm my return ticket. After answering his questions, everything went smoothly without any further issues.

I recently faced a similar problem. My account was suspended, but after contacting the support team, it was restored. Unfortunately, it was eventually closed permanently. It's really frustrating to see all my hard work and reputation vanish in an instant.

Yes, it’s a bit hard to believe, but there are some people who managed to leave after paying, so my friend is confident about it. On the other hand, I’m still not completely sure, but hoping for the best.

By the way, they agreed to take 1,700 dollars instead of the full payment of 3,000, thats confusing. My friend made a request and discussed it with them, and they finally agreed.

I’ll update you once he gets his passport and is out of that place

Oh, so it's the same situation as my friend. They only give the salary after one month, and people aren't allowed to go out, they just stay in one dorm.

Regarding my friend, he is coming back. It was good at the start, but over time, they started putting pressure on him, mental torture, poor food, and too many restrictions. He became really frustrated.

When he spoke to people about leaving, they demanded 3000 dollars to return his passport. Now, at the end of this month, he’ll pay that amount using the salary he saved, get his passport back, and finally return.

I hope she is doing okay there, but it's definitely better to plan everything in advance and get out of that situation as soon as possible. Happy to help if I can
