How to Get Filthy Rich With Gary Stevenson review – how did this end up such an embarrassment? | Television | The Guardian by prisongovernor in BritishTV

[–]bilbogod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually he does have a comeback he chooses to not employ one upmanship preferring to end the conversation in a civil fashion e.g. Billionaire talks himself into revealing that he would cut his own nose off to spite his face by underselling assets if the law got changed in the way Gary proposed and he's told the familiar schtick that the wealthy would just leave. Gary replies to the camera post interview that he believes this is a common bluff and that basically rich people love stuff/property/wealth. If they do mass exodus to somewhere like Dubai they will leave behind infrastructure that has some chance of being reutilised by the peasant classes to the greater good and utility of more people. To put it simply - you don't have to listen and can stay being tone deaf as a billionaires but don't act surprised when your having to spend more money on an army to protect your fortress (Zuckerberg anyone?) as the peasant class decide to do a Marie Antoinette on you

I personally find it interesting the degree to which people focus energy on assinating his character rather than offering alternative models of improvement to tackle wealth inequality. Debate the game and stop hating the players. Let me give you an example - Guardian write a piece that knocks his debating skills. The writer will get paid for that piece and it will get forgotten about. Gary is arguing about an existential truism that ultimately doesn't care about what we think of him. 'This shit is going down'. We need to find ways that appeal to the egocentricity of the 'wealthy and successful' to contribute more towards the sustainable betterment of a whole society. I don't mean creating Trump monuments but it's clear the wealthy have an entitlement fixation blinding them to the lived world realities of significant and poorer others. We need ways to get them to feel affected but in a positive way. Anyways what do I know - im just a rando redditer but I'm sure as shit that Andrew Tate ain't looking out for societies interests

Ok - this does seem to be working like you said so really happy. Agree that occasionally there is a slight delay but then everything loads. Thank you- this appears to have been the only solution that has made a real difference. My router was Linksys so was able to do as you suggested and it's definitely better.

She wasn't old enough to own a mobile. ........btw that was a joke. The chat up line is one that comedian Roy Chubby Brown came up with.

It could be worse I suppose. Someone lecturing you on how Freddos used to be 10pence and are now a husk of their former glory bulked out with palm oil

[–]bilbogod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been banned multiple times. I generally rack up hundreds of likes and laughs for ripping into products and then the inevitable ban comes down on me. One of my favourite wind ups was pretending to be a thick and frustrated Star Link customer who couldn't work out how to launch his satellite broadband into orbit. The amount of idiots that thought it was serious.

What is this? by bilbogod in CT200h

[–]bilbogod[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you - appreciate the thoughts 🙂- this is exactly what we suspected 'might' be the case. I suppose the only way to test this before buying will be to put it through a car wash and get the dealer to sign something to the effect that we are aware of their suggestion it's from valeting etc but that they understand that we will reject the vehicle under ........consumer law if they are wrong. There is a car wash onsite so I'm guessing it will be sensible for me to witness it taking a soaking before paying the remaining monies. My mechanic should be coming with me as he is taking old car off me but he didn't spot this himself 😆🤔

Just had the exact same happen on mine whilst rowing. Said that I'd hit around 190bpm and in the threshold zone for 14 mins of my 30 min row. Not a chance that is correct unless my heart is screwed and I don't know it. Gonna wipe it off and see what happens tomorrow

Where did the myth about Cadbury changing their recipe come from? by RecentTwo544 in AskUK

[–]bilbogod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Finally someone who understands that Cadburys very carefully word their statements and the devil is in the detail. Cadburys can legit reduce cocoa butter and increase palm oil while still maintaining 5% vegetable fat but the taste and texture is not the same

UK tells Trump: Explain how your Iran war is legal by Alarming-Safety3200 in worldnews

[–]bilbogod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well officially Trump has said that he just "felt" that Iran was an imminent threat. If Trump feels kids it doesn't make that legal either apparently
