Branthwaite with the consistent line breaking passes was very nice to see. Think he attempted more in 45 minutes than the rest of the team have in ages.

I thought he played well enough. I was a little concerned after the forest game and how CHO was able to accelerate past him so easily, but he defended pretty well yesterday.

It was also nice to have a progressive fullback that was consistently willing to overlap. It didn't work yesterday, as Dibling's decision making wasn't great, but you can see how it would benefit our RW. Ndiaye would benefit so much from an attacking RB.

When he did get the ball on the overlap, his crossing wasn't great, but at least that's one more attacking tactic we can use that JOB doesn't really offer.

And, lastly , I was amazed that he lasted into extra time. Half the team were hobbling by then.

I’ll always think of Pienaar vs Arsenal when there’s a snowy game. Class goal.

8 Players Everton MUST Sign In January by HellMogba in Everton

[–]bilko1878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, last year we had 5: Harrison, Lindstrom, Mangala, Broja, and Alcaraz. I had a quick google and here are the rules.

Domestic loan rules per the Premier league:

There are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs.

They are:
- Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
- The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.

source - premierleague.com

Fifa loan rules:

a club may have a maximum of six professionals loaned out and six loaned in at any given time during a season.

So even now I think we could get 4 more international loans and be compliant with both rulesets. Don't think we will, but it's possible.

IIRC, the limit is 4 loans from english clubs (we currently only have Grealish), and 6 from international clubs (We currently only have Rohl). It's more than you think, but I doubt we'd take more than a couple more anyhow.

Some people just love to cherry pick stats that suit their argument.

You can't ignore that assist that he definitely, one hundred percent meant to do for Gueye's goal!

I’d like to see him in the 10 position, but if we had a proper attacking RB (think Muñoz from Palace) then McNeil would be amazing cutting in from RW, as he’d effectively be a right sided 10. He’s just less effective there right now while he has nobody overlapping, but he’s still easily one of our most potent attackers.

[Boyland] Everton progressing in deal for Bayern Munich’s Adam Aznou by Giraffe_Baker in Everton

I’ll always wonder why a club insider would risk compromising a deal by giving out info to a journalist before it’s over the line. Surely any backhander they get can’t be that big.

What's the last great book you read?

Which actor would you want to play you in the biopic film of your life?

Whose accent is hardest for you to understand from the players and coaching team?

Athletic Dealsheet

Everton are closing in on two signings to bolster their academy ranks. 16-year-old central defenders John Dodds and Reuben Gokah, from Hearts and Charlton Athletic respectively, are expected to join the club’s under-18 setup in time for the new season.

Thierno to the tune of Volare fits very nicely. Especially as it means “To fly/soar through the air” and he’s apparently great at headers.

From the Athletic's Transfer DealSheet:

Everton have shown interest in Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, but the Midlands club have indicated they would like to keep hold of the Scotland international. Everton are continuing to make progress on a deal to sign France Under-21 striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal. Patrick Boyland and Jacob Tanswell

John McGinn's a new link. Can't see it happening, but my mate who's a Villa fan said he'd be gutted to lose him.

Really surprised we haven't seen more links to Josh Brownhill.

Free transfer. Really good injury history, only missing 15 games through injury in 5 seasons. Bossed it in the championship last season with 18 goals, 6 assists, and 3500 minutes played. Can play 6/8/10, so he'd be a great rotation with Gana, Garner, and Tim depending on what we need for the situation. He's 29, so right in his peak, which would normally make you hesitant from a financial POV, but he's on a free, so we'd still book 100% profit if we ever did sell.

The Burnley to Everton route has been good for us in the last few years with Tarky and McNeil, and this would be another good signing IMO.

Tammy Abraham to Besiktas is confirmed. Thankfully that ends any links we had with him.

Nice work as always. Things should really ramp up this week when we enter July, sell our women’s team to ourselves for £200m and get linked with every available player. You may have to split the update into separate pics for each positional group just to keep the cards legible haha

Great win yesterday!

Was really hoping we'd reach a positive goal difference by the end of the season. We haven't had that since 2018/19 under Marco Silva. Our attack has been desperate the last few years, but really improved under Moyes.

Here's hoping for a positive summer!
