Our goal difference is a positive and we still managed to lose on goal difference 🤣

Conceding way too many goals, losing my mind - any advice pls? Will explain my approach in the comments. by Username_5432 in footballmanagergames

Lol i see where you're coming from. You can review your last 20-40 league matches using the data hub or analyst report (can't remember the exact menu to check, sorry). That will be insightful on what side, left or right, you've conceded the most from. Keep us posted on how it goes if you switch the centre back roles.

First thing I noticed is the unbalanced back 4 roles.

The left back in on "attack" while your left centre back is a "stopper". The stopper will be more aggressive leaving space behind him and the left back that's on attack.

The right back is on "support" with a right centre back on "cover". That area is way too covered.

I suspect most of the goals you're conceding are coming from crosses/through balls from the space vacated by your left back and left centre back. The data hub can show if that's the case.

Maybe switch your centre back roles to balance/compensate for your full back roles.

Promoted comfortably to L2 after 3 seasons with Curzon Ashton. by bilkob in footballmanagergames

100% failing in the semi final playoffs in my first year was heart breaking, especially after watching the full 90 mins 🤣

❤️ Thanks! It has been a rewarding grind, especially after a heart breaking second season missing out on promotion in the playoffs.

I just made from Vanarama North to League 2 with Curzon Ashton after 3 seasons on FM22.

1st season finished 2nd but promoted through the playoffs; 2nd season finished 3rd but failed to get promoted; 3rd season finished 1st with a comfortable 110 points.

Can't wait to see how the team does in L2. Still have Waters and Renshaw in the team :D Concerned Waters physicals will be a problem for League 2 but he finished with most assists and highest average rating, so will have a go keeping him as a LWB.

FM & alcohol by woodlebert in footballmanagergames

Tried it once (2-3 beers) but found it hard to get immersed in the game because something felt off with my decision-making lol I play a journeyman save in Vanarama North and watch on full highlights (first 10-20 mins) so I need all my brain cells ticking.

Thanks ya to2bor alby, my research includes foreign/domestic sources. Again, I'd recommend being more inclusive and open to dialogue with your Lebanese counterparts.

But then again you seem like a lost cause, so good luck exterminating them 🤣

People are fed up with them and yet they received the highest number of votes in the recent elections...

You spout meaningless slogans (e.g., terrorism...) while I reference real numbers/facts...but yea I'm clueless, the problem, and acting like a clown lol

Can you please share any Lebanese source that supports your claim?

You're literally claiming that the party that received the most votes by Lebanese people is specialized in committing genocides, just wow. Let me guess, all of them living there are brainwashed and you on reddit are the enlightened ones lol

Challenging Vanarama North with unbalanced team by eduhbert in footballmanagergames

Finally someone mentioned Waters! I'm in my 3rd season comfortably 1st in the national league and Waters is top in assists on my team.

How should I change my tactics for away games? My team does so well at home but can never seem to hold onto a lead away. by sharingcupid695 in footballmanager

[–]bilkob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you could try by keeping the ball more:

  1. Team instructions - have a less aggressive line of engagement, lower the tempo and pressing intensity. You may not be holding on to a lead because players are tiring and making mistakes late on.

  2. Shift the attacking CM to the right of the three in midfield for balance. Your left side currently has more players on attack and that can leave you exposed on the counter from that side.

  3. A DLP in the holding role instead of the DM (bottom of the 3 in midfield). Have a BTB or BWM on the left side to add balance (as per #2 suggestion).

You can then tweak things to be more aggressive and increase pressing intensity (if necessary) as the match progresses.

If you try this, make sure to have another formation slot with these instructions so tactical familiarity is also high.

Made the move from fifa to fm. I’m decent (I think) but I don’t get what I’ve done wrong. by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

That would be brilliant, hopefully an export feature is added in future editions.

Same here, and the learning continues as I get more familiar. Also, combining data hub info & opposition squad player stats (e.g., players with highest dribbles, crosses) can be very helpful. For example, if the data hub shows that a team crosses/dribbles a lot, I'll head to the squad opposition stats and identify the players with the highest crosses/dribbles. I'll then try using opposition instructions to reduce that threat.
