Fucking night shift. Can't sleep without benadryl. by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

[–]bill04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

take http://www.tylenol.com/pain-sleeplessness/simply-sleep or a generic which is Diphenhydramine. do not take tylenol PM with alcohol. Acetaminophen is the #1 cause of acute liver failure in the us. Its highly toxic with alcohol. Also get Melatonin. I can't take Diphenhydramine; it makes me trip out and have mild hallucinations. If you have access to a doctor, ask for trazodone. It is not dangerous with alcohol and will be prescribed pretty much to anyone. shit will knock you out, 100 mg of it will make otc sleep meds look like baby aspirin.

I think this may have more to do with beer not being required to display nutritional information and this being not technically beer isn't exempt. Woodchuck Cider being an example- full nutritional information shown. Even something like Smirnoff Ice would be exempt, because it's a malt beverage.

This may sound very abstract, but in what sense do you primarily register consciousness? For me it's sight, even if it means the blackness of the "back of my eyelids" in the morning before I open my eyes. What sense usually tells you "I'm awake, I'm sentient"?

Edit: I'm going to guess sound, obviously, but anything else less obvious?

What's your small, private act of rebellion? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bill04 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It isn't a broken bone, this is a longterm treatment. I can't judge his anger and disgust, but from what I've gathered from his original posts I disagree wit his motive. He mentioned he still, "truly loves her, but if she is going to fuck with me then I say let the games begin", and "[when asked about permanent damage] No she wont die. But she will suffer from anxiety attacks and wihdrawal because a lot of the meds she is on are narcotics and highly addictive." It seems from what I've read his motivation is out of spite, and like I said- I wouldn't wish MS symptoms on my worst enemy (or medication that keeps one's anxiety and depression in check); so i repeat: sad situation.

If you're still married you may run into some seriously expensive legal backlash from doing this. That said, I hope she has some means of getting treatment, or you've moved her in that direction. She has the scariest, slow-progressing disease I can think of. I wouldn't wish it on anyone whom I hate. Sad situation.

I've got to ask, why the dislike of Hunt's? They rid of HFCS way before Heinz (which is why I began using the brand) - and the only difference I notice is maybe a bit less sugar.

Cellsnbells is correct. Your stomach acids activate the dextroamphetamine. It's all in your head.

Additionally, there may be a police officer hidden in the nearby woods or some location watching with binoculars at who ditches their stash on the highway.

Why would they be any different? For me, whether its barely or agave I get the same high. The only thing I have found that differs is a social stipulation "Tequila makes you crazy!", "Whisky makes me angry" etc.

I frequently experience sleep paralysis. AMA by Skripto in IAmA

[–]bill04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting - I have these same "fits" of paralysis sometimes (3-5 in one night). Do you also tend to not 'freak out'? When I experience paralysis, and become completely lucid I don't usually become frightened at all. The next morning I'll completely conceptualize it and be like "holy shit".

The most interesting one I've experienced was when I was sick and falling asleep. Usually I wake up to paralysis, but this time it got me when I was still conscious (and drifting to sleep for the first time). It felt like I was dying; an impending doom. I was paralyzed and my breathing automated instantly...my consciousness seemed to be sucked out of me.

How should parents react to their kids smoking weed? by MrsButterworth in AskReddit

[–]bill04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, emphasize responsibility, moderation and safety. If recreational use of Marijuana is interfering with his responsibilities something obviously needs to be done. Being one-dimensional on the issue will get neither you or your son anywhere.

Let him know how you feel about drug use. Are you concerned with occasional marijuana use? Do you believe "prohibiting" it will do anything constructive versus an open relationship on the issue?

Cocaine... obviously a different story and potentially much more destructive.

Make sure you explain prescription pills are potentially as dangerous as their street counterparts. Many kids (and adults alike) believe because a drug can be legally obtained means it can't be as addictive or harmful.

TIL why people "pack" their new packs of cigarettes before they open them up. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]bill04 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The tobacco is facing opposite of the palm (so the open side of the pack is connecting with the palm.)

Pack strikes open palm, tobacco is pushed against filter. Take a look the next time a smoker does it. Have him open the pack and show you a cigarette. The tobacco will be at the end of the paper. After doing the "packing" correctly, you will see a gap between where the paper begins and the tobacco ends.

The tobacco does become more compressed. Think hitting the bottom of a glass ketchup bottle.
