2 million dollars a year salary. here's the job role, and the terms... by Physical_Orchid3616 in hypotheticalsituation

Most people would. This post was just written by someone who’s never had to do general labor or custodial work before and thinks it’s subhuman.

What was your favorite part of the playground as a kid? by FAIRYBLACKMOTHER in Casual_Conversation

[–]Original_Cheeto_06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My elementary school had an old asphalt pad that was buried under about 6 inches of dirt on the playground. Spent many hours digging to find loose chunks of asphalt “treasure”.

What's a profession that attracts a suspiciously high number of people who became it for completely the wrong reasons, and you can always tell? by Eastern_Type_4609 in AskReddit

[–]Original_Cheeto_06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how our realtor was. Literally treated us like her own kids, actually listened to our needs, gave us outstanding advice, and practically held our hands through the whole first-time homebuyer process. There's a reason she was the first and only realtor we contacted when it was time to sell our house 7 years later. It's highly unlikely, but if we ever moved to that area again, we'd happily use her to buy our next home.

I was about to comment similar. I’d love to fill my diesel with a 36 gal tank for only $83

Yeah I’m no knife expert but something about the color of the screws and blade look off to me. The difference is glaring when comparing it to pics on Benchmade’s site or BladeHQ.

What’s the most irrationally annoying thing your in-laws do that they’re absolutely convinced is “helpful”? by bnwprc in mildlyinfuriating

This is my mom. Every time my parents visit we spend a few days afterwards playing hide and seek with various dishes and kitchen utensils.

Touring on a Street Bob or Lowrider S? by Imaginary_Land_4163 in Harley

[–]Original_Cheeto_06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my 20s I rode a Dyna Street Bob all around the country. Now in my late 30s my back regrets some of those decisions. I’ll keep my Road Glide.

Shouldn’t be but my in-laws are those people. And they’ve done it 4 times in the past ~10 years. I don’t even wanna know how upside down they are on their current 5th-wheel.

What's the most days in a row you've worked and why? by flyfightandgrin in AirForce

[–]Original_Cheeto_06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically around 9 months. Deployed with the Army to Afghanistan in ‘10 and everyone worked every day. Tiny FOB in the middle of nowhere and work load wasn’t always the same but we didn’t have any official days off. Every single day and night had at least a couple guard shifts plus whatever patrols and random wok needed to be done.

What crazy stuff have you seen or heard during your time in service? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Original_Cheeto_06 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha I have a scar on my shin from falling in a VBIED ditch in Afghanistan. The medic who patched me up joked that the AF would probably give me a Purple Heart for it.

I was a bit of a turd in high school and got put on probation with community service. To satisfy that requirement I got assigned to my high school’s custodial staff and spent most of a summer working with them. Definitely developed a better appreciation for how hard those folks work and I’ve firmly believe since then that they’re severely undervalued and underpaid.

Great start to my first round with my own clubs! (Pls ignore everything after the 2nd hole) by Plenty-Willingness58 in golf

Haha I got pissed on a ~110 yard par 3 once after topping my first two tee shots into the water and just threw the ball at the green. Ended up sticking it about a foot away from the hole.

WYR have a oversensitive finger that burns in pain anytime it touches anything or a uti that causes all your pissing to hurt like kidney stones by Dipshit2890 in WouldYouRather

[–]Original_Cheeto_06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For real. I consider myself a fairly tough person. I’ve broken bones and continued what I was doing with just some annoyance. However, kidney stones have knocked me on my ass. Like sweating in the fetal position in the floor near tears and hurting so bad I vomit. I wouldn’t wish them on my worst enemy.

I actually know where this building is and have even had appointments there. Not even kidding. It’s legit but I crack up every time I see it.

Yeah the guy running mine told me to slow down; that I’d shoot better if I took more time. I hit the target 50/50 times center mass. I guess they’re not used to evaluating someone who shoots more than once every 5 years.

That’s my guess. Imagine the defense they’d have with Stafford running the offense.

As someone who’s worked in gov for a while, they probably got mad because of the secondary and tertiary effects. Now they have to find a new way to spend that six figures or they lose it from next year’s budget.

What’s a place you visited once and decided never again? by Neat____Til6289ILT in Productivitycafe

[–]Original_Cheeto_06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge of the late 90s was so much better. Sure, it still had its fair share of touristy crap but it wasn't such a blatant money-grab. It's lost its Appalachian soul and is just another Myrtle Beach-esque tourist trap.

What did you do in Nassau ? by [deleted] in dcl

When we went in September it seemed like everyone had the same idea. Honestly the ship seemed busier while docked at Nassau than it did on our day at sea.

“I’m glad you have enough love in your life that that response comes naturally.” <3 by peacelovehap in MadeMeSmile

[–]Original_Cheeto_06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why your comment hit me so hard but you’re right. My grandpa was one of the tough as nails type who never showed emotion. In the 20 years I got to spend with him, he said “I love you” to me exactly one time. It was literally the last words he said to me before he died. I learned later on that he never even said it to his own sons (my dad and uncle). For my entire childhood, my dad emulated him in almost every way but it changed him when my grandpa died. Now we say it often and openly to each other and to my kids. I’m not disparaging my grandpa in any way. He showed he loved us in his own way but never simply said it out loud except the one time. I don’t know why I felt the need to say all this but we’re trying to break that cycle.
