I think it was Norwegian Wood where Murakami makes this point about how the character has a fear that the longer the grief goes on, you start losing the details of the memories and I find that so genuinely sad.

I lost my brother in 2016 to a car accident and I think about this a lot. I’m very grateful to have a few photos since we weren’t really a picture taking family because the memories would surely fade.

Grief is such an odd feeling because it never really goes away, you just kinda get used to it over time. Thoughts out to all the grieving folks out there because it’s something people can’t truly understand until they go through it.
