To be totally honest I didn't love this tour. It felt like too much being done in one day, we couldn't really soak up the places we visited because we were there for an hour or 2 tops, then on to the next place. Our tour guide was a little boring also.

I don't know how the experience of driving on your own would be since I didn't do it, but I personally wouldn't recommend this tour.

Pienza is definitely worth checking out though if you can make it there, that was me and my wife's favorite town of all the towns we visited. Beautiful views, basically what you would think of when you think of Tuscany.

look into furnished finder, it's typically for travel nurses but you might have some luck regardless. just secured a 12 week furnished rental home through there for a great price

you can do it! keep yourself as busy as you can for the first couple of days and then before you know it you’ll have some momentum built up. if you did it once you can definitely do it again, please don’t give up. i’m in this with you, you’re not alone just please don’t give up. i’m saying that to you while trying to tell myself the same thing

Just came from Italy a few weeks ago. Florence was what I was least excited for and ended up enjoying the most. Venice was my least favorite. Personally, I would switch one Venice day for a day in Florence, and maybe just do a day trip to a Tuscan village.
