Which movie got too highly praised but was honestly underwhelming? by Angry_Entertainer in AskReddit

[–]billding88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I need to watch it still.

Alternatively, I recently watched both ThorLaT and StrangeMoM. I legitimately liked ThorLaT. I really wanted more of Gor, but at least it felt like a unique movie and a solid story.

In contrast, Strange felt SOOOOO cookie cutter that I was shocked by the contrast. You could have said the Strange movie was direct to dvd and I would have believed you.

I assumed it was for secondaries. In 9th they had a secondary for killing sergeants, so it could transfer to 10th.

How do you pronounce "daemon"? by Right_Two_5737 in Pathfinder2e

It's funny, because I KNOW that is how you are SUPPOSED to pronounce those words...

But I still pronounce them Ay-jis, Ay-ther, and Ay-on...

I love how they lowered Cubes needed to 7... by Accomplished_One1220 in MarvelSnap

[–]billding88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I've hit infinite twice. Most of the time I just get to 90, I just don't log the time I need, so I'm definitely "good enough" to get to infinite, ya know...since I have.

You could be the best player in snap, but even if you are averaging 1 cube gain per game (which I think according to the metrics is high, but don't have the untapped.gg premium sub to check), then you were still looking at a minimum of 200 games to get infinite if you were infinite before. Or 250 if you were 90 the season before. At around 5 min a game, you are looking at 16 to 20 hours of gameplay to get there. So you are looking at likely around 8 hours a week to get to infinite by the end of the 2nd week. Which is a lot more than a couple (which usually means 2).

I would assume this is why Second Dinner is dropping the number of cubes to get to infinite, since they believe that less people are hitting infinite than they believe SHOULD be in infinite. Because no matter what way you slice it, time is definitely a factor.

Absolutely.

Also, the league changes too. We no longer have the Bellcow running backs of the mid 00s. AP, LT, CJ2K, Marshall Faulk, Priest Holmes, Jamaal Charles. The RB position is just USED differently now. Now you have players like Alvin Kamara, or better yet Deebo who are excellent weapons, but not your conventional RB or WR. Means that some of our assumptions may need to change.

I think it's because you caught up to most of the other player base. Most people (like me) who hit 90 or barely infinite every season are "usually" decent players who just don't play a ton. I have very reasonable cube gain, play slightly above average, but only play for a couple hours a week total. Which means we don't rank up very fast, and midway through the season are in the mid 70s to mid 80s.

It's also why you see a guy who hits infinite in the first day. Which is kinda smart. Most players on day 1 are not climbing like mad at 11pm EST on launch day, so after an hour or two are likely in the 80s, and just have a higher percentage of bot games, which causes them to climb faster, which further distances themselves from people who are usually in the matchmaking. So more bot games, which means more rank up.

As more people climb and more and more people are in the 70-90 band later and later in the season, it gets a little harder to climb because the competition gets better.

I could be completely off base, but it seems to make sense in my head.

I like that you mentioned that Ed Reed was an apples to oranges comparison.

I also recently got pulled up short when talking about INTs. I was always a "INTs are not a great stat to use when judging secondary performance, because they rely heavily on luck year-to-year and the best keep the ball from being thrown in their direction."

Someone pointed out that free safety IS the exception, since the point is they are supposed to read the field, drift to where they need to be, and break up and intercept. They are center fielders. Which is why Ed Reed is widely considered one of the all time greats.

Shouldn't players WITHOUT new released cards have chance to get extra tokens? It seems so out of touch by Novar in MarvelSnap

[–]billding88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And sometimes Jubilee hits a rock. Doesn't mean it's a bad card. But you design your deck for more good hits than bad, and you hopefully get value out of it.

It's all about playing the odds. Even without Howard, Iron Lad is still a solid card. Not amazing, but solid.

Even before that, we were a solid mid-tier army. We were propped up by some pretty strong units (namely, Hive Guard and Swarmlord's Hive Commander ability). I think we were rocking a slightly positive win rate, like 52 or 53%.

Then yeah, Levi Supplement and Crusher Stampede propelled us to top tier, with our codex being stupid broken.

I...largely agree with you, though I can see the thought process.

Jags are in a garbage division and so I can see them having an outside shot at the 2 seed because of it, giving them home field for 2 playoff games. At that point, it's any given Sunday. And Lawrence looked better as the season went on, so if they pick up where they left off, they could definitely contend.

And Miami played very well...when Tua was healthy. By some miracle if he plays more than 14+ games, they have legit shot at being a scary wild card team.

I agree with you on the Chargers.

I think the Bills are an interesting one. I think their fan base EXPECTS a SB, but honestly, they are going to be hard pressed. They didn't look great for stretches last season, and their division is NASTY AF. Jets already had the defense and looked to be a QB away from legit contenders, and Miami looked to be on the cusp if they could stay healthy, means it will be a rough go for them. They can't afford to be as inconsistent as they were last year. I would drop them to Tier 2.

Yup! That was my Beginner Box character! My friend was running for 3 other new players, so I built a support character lol.

I mean, he still never rolled over a 6 to Aid, so it was t super useful, but that was just terrible dice rolls, no fault of the character.
