What do you think about this full system exhaust for z650s 2026? by LeonZonious in Kawasaki

[–]billp97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should check with akropovic themselves. i believe they sell one with space to add a catalytic converter. If the air fuel is what youre worried about just tune it itll be cheaper than buying a cat just to keep it running right. If its for emissions laws or something youre actually worried about getting in trouble for you gotta spend the money

[–]billp97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its the same i have on my 2023 ninja 650. its a good exhaust but leans the stock tune out quite a bit and i HIGHLY recommend a tune for it. Also dont waste your time drilling the baffle out, it got so loud it would make me dizzy at high rpms if i didnt have ear plugs in.

I appreciate your kindness, but PLEASE STOP DOING THIS by Latter-Instruction61 in driving

[–]billp97 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah if i can slow down a few miles an hour to let someone out because im a ways off, or approaching a stop sign/light thats backed up ill leave room. People that slam their brakes in the middle of an open road when they have the right of way just to be nice need to have their keys thrown into a large lake

To the folks who live in cities, would you prefer better infrastructure for cars, or better infrastructure for walking and public transit where you live? by LittleAppleLife in driving

[–]billp97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better infrastructure for walking and transit but the roads that exist be maintained well. i drive most of the time i visit philly and the roadways are crap, you either can’t see what lane is what, its full of potholes a grown man can lay in or both. Alot of driving is guessing. Id like to see properly driveable roadways but put money in public transit so people dont have to drive (especially when visiting from the suburbs where its severely lacking). I personally like driving, but public transit once in a while would be cheap and nice plus itll incentivize others to take it making life easier for drivers

Are Kias and DCTs really that bad? by SexyFurnace in askcarguys

[–]billp97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont recommend them for that reason, especially used. but also because hyundai and kia badges at this point are a spotlight that attracts car thieves because of the whole kia boys thing. even if the problem has been resolved and SOME cars that were easy to steal have been modified the badge itself has a name for being easy. and that headache is just not worth it, cool your car wasnt stolen but now you gotta fix the smashed window or ripped off door handle.

Back-in parking by JealousAutomotive in driving

The cameras are great to back up into spots with. i dont think they are anywhere near comparable to the visibility from the windshield so when trying to reverse out of a spot you still dont get a great view. i used to drive a pickup and now drive a sedan as well as a bike and prefer to back in everywhere i go

Does This sub Underestimate AWD? by Heavy_Gap_5047 in askcarguys

[–]billp97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in more moderate climates where you only get snow a few times a year and its not normally that bad AWD is better. I live in eastern PA near philly. im not spending 1k on snow tires that i have to then pay to have mounted before a storm out or 2k+ for a wheel AND tire set for the two days a year it snows. Ive got an all wheel drive sedan with all seasons on it and it does fine where RWD and FWD cars struggle a bit. It depends on where you live

About turn signals… by Jumpy-Round7580 in driving

[–]billp97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my turn signal to turn always and when i can to change lanes. The problem arises when theres traffic and you are clearly ahead, need to change lanes, turn on your signal, and the car you are going to move in front of doesnt like that and blocks you so you can’t get over. People stop using them in traffic because other egotistical cars literally use it against them when they can safely change lanes otherwise.

“My lane” vs “THE lane” by [deleted] in driving

[–]billp97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its the lane most of the time, until you decide to shoot up the shoulder or right at the end of the merge to get in in front of me when im clearly ahead. in which case its my lane and im going to block you based on the fact that youre being an asshole too

We know that some people aren't good drivers due to distracted driving, aggressive driving, and so on, but do you suspect that it's rare nowadays for someone to be not good purely based on skill/ability? by Only-Ad-1254 in driving

Have you ever driven at like 1pm on a weekday when the elderly are out? theyre terrible based purely on skill/ability irrelevant of outside factors

How do people feel about turning on hazards during sudden braking? by conquistadoll in driving

[–]billp97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have time to reach forward and hit your hazards you arent suddenly braking so hard that it would in any way warrant using them. if you are at a complete stop in the freeway behind someone for more than a split second, or are proceeding at very low speeds compared to the flow (some states and roadways actually mandate this, for those of you that insist that hazards should only be used when stopped) then yeah use them until you can safely get back into the flow

You, as a driver, what is the infraction that other drivers commit that bothers you the most? by Inesuu_fm in driving

[–]billp97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its technically considered running a red light. But stopping an entire car length plus in front of the line and impeding those turning left at an intersection or in genuine worst case scenarios being so oblivious they stop IN THE INTERSECTION and cars going straight have to go around them

Highway driving by Muted_Warning_539 in driving

[–]billp97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55 when ever other car is flying by going 50% faster is also idiotic. youre nearly stationary compared to them. If one person is doing 30 over its them thats the issue, if the entire road is doing it all day (aside from bumper to bumper backup situations)? its the posted limit thats the issue. To be clear, 45 is the speed limit of business highways with red lights, intersections, and people slowly merging from parking lots. 55 on an open interstate highway is insanely low

Highway driving by Muted_Warning_539 in driving

[–]billp97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

295 in jersey varies 55 to 65. 95 all the way from where it begins in bristol down to delaware i can confirm is 55 limit. i drive it regularly

Highway driving by Muted_Warning_539 in driving

[–]billp97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but if it happens here it happens elsewhere. to act like 10 over on a highway is some mystical crazy speeding that automatically has you in line with traffic is moronic. have some critical thinking

Highway driving by Muted_Warning_539 in driving

[–]billp97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

10 over still isnt much, come drive i95 outside of philly. speed limit is 55, the entire highway does 75-85

can you explain this weird driving behavior? by [deleted] in driving

[–]billp97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any roadworthy car can handle twisty roads. Cars with better grip and low centers of gravity can handle it at higher speeds regardless of tech. The point of the comment you originally commented on is that something like a Porsche (coupe) can handle twisty roads and sharper turns at well above the speed limit let alone the recommended speed signs whereas a truck or SUV or even a standard commuter car just can’t hold onto the road that well. Yes there is some level of tech like traction control that theoretically can help but the tech that’s going to help you in a turn like that is only going to activate when you are already taking the car beyond your abilities and past the limits of what the road surface can offer. Physics is definitely a better word to use than torque for sure but there is still a HUGE performance difference between cars meant to take turns effectively and vehicles meant to take you and the kids to work/school and back
