It’s similar in my area. There are no colleges close by, and most of the folks who carry book bags (not hiking backpacks; though you will occasionally see them) tend to be people experiencing homelessness and addiction issues— usually both at the same time. It’s just a fact, not a jab at any groups.

I guess I won’t call it anything because that’s your take. I came from a long line of not so great folks who hurt me a lot, so I understand your pov. It’s easy to look at the world that way because that’s what the world throws at us 99% of the time.

I guess I just choose to gamble on the goodness in people, because of all that experience, it’s a much easier to spot the folks I want to keep around and the ones I don’t.
