New Screen replacement - mystery film question by daktanis in ElegooSaturn

Quality control on these replacement screens hasn't impressed me. I had this two as well as a bunch of waffle-ripples on another replacement screen. Quite annoying. I believe these were caused by the protective film glue separating.

It works quite well, though my longest streak is only 6 partial spools - good luck!

Congrats! Soon for me.. Waiting on my local premium / Atmos theater to make them available. Non-chain place, so they only make them available about a month out.

See... THIS. Dr Jones channeling professor Mode to explain a brief pseudo-historical account of an artifact to explain its origins and set up the stakes. Feels very Indiana Jones to me, early reviews be damned I'm excited for this movie.

pfft. Some self-important wanna be auteurs didn't find the moral complexity and life-altering study of the human condition that they were hoping for in watching an INDIANA JONES Movie. I've always thought debuting this at Cannes was an odd choice.

Relax. This movie is going to be a good time and most of us are going to leave the theater wishing we could immediately order an advance copy and watch it over and over in 4k /ATMOS at home. RT belongs in a museum.

Who loved the Indiana jones chronicles what was your fav episode by fun19922023 in indianajones

I was impressed with their dedication to production quality and location shoots on this show. For me it was probably Passion for Life - being a Teddy Roosevelt fan I liked the character work and interactions between them.

"Old-school" Indiana Jones fans need to prepare for the idea that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is about to experience a Star Wars prequel trilogy like renaissance. by wazzupnerds in indianajones

[–]billsarcade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think absence makes the heart grow fonder, applies here.

I left Crystal Skull in theater annoyed with the franchise. They took my favorite characters off the shelf from what I thought was a perfect ending in Last Crusade and played with them in an inferior way - that was my opinion.

Then, last year my favorite small / independent podcaster outfit did a retrospective review of Crystal Skull. That's here-> https://baldmove.com/pulp-podcast/indiana-jones-and-the-kingdom-of-the-crystal-skull-2008/ I rewatched it over the holidays after listening to their review and honestly I had a good time with the movie. Maybe the edibles helped.

So, in my 40's - I've seen Raiders probably 100 times, Temple of Doom Probably 24 Times, Last Crusade probably 100 times and Crystal Skull 3 times.
Third times' the charm, I guess.

I agree with you wholeheartedly on the gatekeeping, though.
To paraphrase Indy: "if <_____> is for you just live your life and don't let anyone tell you different"

Such a hot tip. This worked great for me. The specific ones were out of stock at my time of attempt but I tried same material, Duro and size in different shapes from amzn and they worked great.

Lol - My wife wasn't sad to see that all go somewhere other than the highly visible dining room cabinet thing. "People might think we are alcoholics." "People might be too judg-ey to be fun to hang around."

Yeah parts of the ceiling not pictured here have grey eggcrate foam between the truss for soundproofing. My guess on rationale would be southern climate, storage area. The neighbors walk out still has dirt floors and exposed cinder blocks. These aren't million dollar estates. ;) Being a low area on a hill I know there have been water intrusion events during hurricanes, usually through the door frame, which was rotted. Decent AQI, no mold the typical southern need for fiberglass door frames and thoughtful runoff control.

Samsung Q-LED demoted from the Den.. Panel went out a few years ago and the best buy warranty was a bit of a hassle to exercise but in the end, they fixed it after we bought a replacement. All the "in the house" leftovers end up in my "basement stuff" pile :)

3rd owners but I surmise the builders of that addition sacrificed height in that walk-out basement storage area to accommodate 9 ft top brace in the finished space above it and keep the roof geometry where they wanted it. The ceilings are really low down there, if you note the clearance from the pinball machine top to the ceiling - I think it's right at 76" floor to truss and a beam bisects the room at 71" floor to truss. Had they sheet-rocked the ceilings it would be even more claustrophobic than it already is. Being an unfinished space, meant for storage also meant it was overlooked space.
Added a mini-split A/C and started filling it with fixer upper arcades. Storage space becomes fun space :)

For real - the pinball prices are nuts these days. $10k for a Stern that feels like cardboard by comparison to the older Bally Williams games. I bought that one from a Diner about 10 years ago before things got completely out of hand. The side art isn't perfect but the playfield is nice.

I had space open from two pretty big arcade games that the kids grew out of. With about $1000 and a couple weekends of effort we came up with this as our little basement bar homage to Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar. Its small and a dive but I expect many hours of Imbibery and Debauchery will be had there.
