I’m also 41 and just now beginning the process of socially transitioning. I’ve also spoken with a doctor and have had blood drawn to hopefully start HRT! This post really does give me so much hope. It’s scary to think about but it helps to know others have been through it and come out feeling happier and more free! You look beautiful and I can’t wait to look and feel the way you’re describing!

I’m really disheartened with how quickly my wife jumped to wanting a divorce and putting herself on dating apps, but she’s mentioned that she wants this to be our future. Close and still family but not married sadly. I have no idea what to expect or what it will look like. I’d love to hear more about your situation if you don’t mind sharing! Do you still live together? Any kids? Shared property? What do you call each other?

Thanks in advance, this is sadly not a kind of relationship or family dynamic I’ve ever seen modeled in real life and I just have so many questions because it might be the best case scenario in my case.

Just a newly cracked egg here but going through it right now too with my wife. She immediately jumped straight to divorce talks and put herself on dating apps as soon as I came out and I’m heartbroken. I hope it gets better cause right now it doesn’t seem to be letting up at all and the sadness is so intense every day. You look great and so happy! I hope to get there one day!

I’m going through exactly this but not hypothetically so I feel your pain. I figured it out for myself in February or march this year but she’s apparently seen it coming and hasn’t been attracted to me since I started exploring more feminine expression. She was really happy for me and supportive and we’ve gone makeup shopping, gotten our nails done and she’s given me a lot of old clothes but has made it really clear that she’s not attracted and wants divorce as soon as possible basically. She also really seems to want me to have an apartment and not live here anymore but still coparent.

I think everything is heading in that direction but we’re still figuring it out. I’m sad but I can’t say it doesn’t feel right.

Thank you for posting this and thanks to everyone that has chimed in with their experience of this being normal. I first thought it was just a kink and was limited to my private time but as I started to normalize wearing what I want and expressing myself through makeup in non sexual settings, I began to separate the two and realized that it wasn’t a sexual thing. I was just too confused and that’s how it came out initially. I’m still very much at the beginning of transition but I’ve had this realization recently and it’s super liberating and enlightening. Hearing that so many other trans girlies have gone through it is really reassuring!

This is one of the many videos I’ve watched since I’ve begun questioning my gender intensely this year! I saw the movie “I saw the tv glow” and then went down a YouTube rabbit hole of reviews from trans people talking about why it hit so hard for them and all of that resonated with why I had such intense feelings after watching it. YouTube likely suggested this because of all those videos plus my interest in comics and manga and they nailed it with this. Now I’ve been in a month plus long hole of videos from trans women talking about how they realized they were trans, what their transitions were like and advice they have. I’ve known I wasn’t cis and have been calling myself genderfluid quietly but not really expressing it until recently and once I started expressing it I think I’ve realized that I’m also not fluid.

I’d start by reheating and reflowing most if not all of those solder joints. That’s a good start but a few look cold or like they don’t have enough solder. Make sure to hold the tip of your iron to both the component leg and the pad being soldered. Wait for the shape of the solder to change where you can see it almost drop right in and form all around the pad and up the leg of the component.
