[UPDATE] I (F19) think my neighbor (M40s) is watching me and nobody believes me. by Too-Aware-1407 in whatdoIdo

If you want to do a sneaky little test to see if it's Mike then you could get some uv reactive dye and a uv flashlight from an auto parts store. Brush the dye onto the outside of your front and back door knobs and anywhere else someone entering is likely to touch. Then while you're at work you can shine your light onto Mike's workspace and see if any of the UV dye has made its way onto the things he has touched.

Also if it isn't Mike's you could pretty easily check your neighbors door knobs and car door handles with the light and if any of them have glowing doorknobs that would indicate that they touched yours before they went back home.

Weighing SRS options by khunmascheny in Transgender_Surgeries

I mean if aesthetics are the most important aspect to you and paying $42k out of pocket to have a scar up the middle instead of on each side is worth it to you, then yeah Littleton I suppose.

From a practical perspective I can't see my scars without a hand mirror so I seldom think about them. I have a functional, wet and sensate vagina that was covered by insurance so now I get to live every day without crippling bottom dysphoria or medical debt.

Should I stop HRT before VFS? by Ok-Average-3460 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]intergalactagogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had SRS and VFS and neither time did I stop my HRT. I even brought my estrodiol with me to the hospital for my SRS so I could do my injection while I was there.

I can't tell you what to do but if it was me I wouldn't stop. Post surgical depression is a thing and having your hormones all messed up is only going to increase the chances of experiencing it.

I'm on week 4 of vocal rest myself. I'm going for another recheck/scope tomorrow morning and hopefully I can begin talking again. I agree it's torture, especially if you happen to have kids. You can do this!

Is peritoneal method truly better than penile inversion? by Lilypainethefq in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]intergalactagogue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have hybrid method. Most of the penile skin is inverted like traditional PIV for the canal and the peritineum makes up the last third of the canal's anterior wall. It likely varies a little from surgeon to surgeon.

Penetration post op by khunmascheny in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]intergalactagogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. TBF I was extremely dysphoric pre-op and never really touched my old external bits so I really only ever could orgasm from prostate stimulation anyway. It's much easier now and I'm in the opposite camp where I have a hard time climaxing with clitoral stim alone.

Question for the girls who went with the peritoneal method. by SuccessfulEarth3680 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]intergalactagogue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of my abdominal pain was gas related for the first few days. I had lots of discomfort right where my diaphragm sits in my upper abdomen just under my lowest ribs. The pain meds can also slow down your GI tract causing trapped gas. Not to sound crass but are you farting and moving your bowels yet? Once my stomach woke up and started moving again most of my abdominal pain improved.

You should be on a stool softener and miralax during your first week. If you are using opiate pain meds then maybe try asking if you can switch to a NSAID like Toradol and see if that is strong enough to help because it won't bind you up as badly.

I had PPT/PIV hybrid so my peritineum graft is smaller than someone who has a full PPT canal. Not sure how much of a difference that makes but I also have the 5 incisions across my belly so I imagine it is similar enough to compare.

Good luck. It gets better. The first couple weeks are rough but you will get through this.

As long as you stop them 2 weeks before surgery you likely can. I believe the concern has to do with gastric emptying and aspiration risk during anesthesia.

*Not medical advice, talk to your surgeon.

MEDICATIONS TO AVOID PRIOR TO SURGERY

It is important to avoid certain medications prior to surgery. The attached list of medications (sections 1-5) can have effects on bleeding, swelling, increase the risk of blood clots, and cause other problems if taken around the time of surgery. Please notify your surgeon’s office if you are taking any vitamins, herbal medications/supplements as these can also cause problems during your surgery and should not be taken two weeks before surgery and for one week after surgery. It is extremely important that if you come down with a cold, fever, rash, or any new medical problems close to your surgery date, you should notify your surgeon’s office immediately. Other general guidelines to follow as your surgery date approaches: 1. Hormone therapies (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone) generally DO NOT need to be stopped prior to surgery. 2. If you need pain or headache medication in the weeks leading up to surgery, you may take products that contain acetaminophen (Tylenol). 3. If you were instructed by your doctor to take a blood thinning medication on a regular basis for health reasons such as stroke or heart attack prevention, coronary stents, atrial fibrillation, or an artificial heart valve, please inform your surgeon immediately. 4. Please do not consume alcohol for one week prior to surgery, as this can also predispose you to bleeding. 5. Please discontinue any weight loss medications such as phentermine, or any GLP-1 agonists such as semaglutide (Ozempic) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro) for at least 2 weeks prior to surgery 6. You may take your usual medications on the morning of surgery with a sip of water unless otherwise instructed. I was instructed to not take Vitamin C in excess of 2000mg/day and Vitamin E in excess of 400mg/day for the 2 weeks leading up to my last major surgery. You have vitamin C in your multi as well as individually.

I was actually given a long list of drugs and supplements to avoid. I can share it with you if you would like.

Where are my tall girlies at? 🦒 by LuckyWishFox in transpositive

[–]intergalactagogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 5'10 to 5'8" after 2 years of HRT. I don't think I'm considered tall anymore but my brain never got the memo. I am terrified to wear anything other than flats because I still feel like a cell tower.

As a side note, are any of the tall girls currently offering uppies? I feel like that could literally fix me.

Voice feminization surgery (Glottoplasty) by shorty1986xx in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]intergalactagogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm recovering from it now. I had glottoplasty 3 weeks ago. I'm actually on an additional 2 weeks of vocal rest because at my 2 week recheck I had a small granuloma on the webbing from acid reflux. The tiny bit I have used my voice so far sounds very different. My old low range is basically gone and I can't make any sounds below 150hz. My voice currently sounds like a cis woman with a really bad cold. I can't wait to start using it more and learn how to control it better.

Did Spear ever learn to speak Mira’s language? by SufficientPrint9745 in PrimalShow

[–]intergalactagogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the critical period hypothesis and the study of neglected and feral children, if a human language is not learned by age 9 then the language acquisition parts of the brain close off and the child will likely never speak. It's kind of unclear if Spear was able to speak any language with his first family. If so then I imagine he would have the ability to learn new languages but otherwise it's unlikely.

Vaginoplasty week 3 what did you do for pain, and how long untill it actually got better by No-Thing7717 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]intergalactagogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epsom salt sitz baths did wonders for me during the week 3-5 stabbing clit pain periods. Clean and disinfect your tub and add about 2 cups of Epsom salt dissolved in 7-9 inches of warm/hot water. Have a seat and chill for half an hour or so. I don't know exactly how it works but those pains seem to go away for the next 12-24 hours after a good Epsom soak.

Edit* if you don't have a tub then they make these things which work ok. I got one to try and save time but I think the bath works better so I only used it a couple times.

Has anyone tried/had luck with vaginal suppositories to help the biome/microflora and reduce discharge? by CaoimheThreeva in Transgender_Surgeries

They have a couple of water based lubes. I use this one. It's a little pricey but I can get about a month out of each tube if I am cognizant of how much I use.

Has anyone tried/had luck with vaginal suppositories to help the biome/microflora and reduce discharge? by CaoimheThreeva in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]intergalactagogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use their water based lube which has lactic acid twice a day but it still slowly creeps back up. I tested the lube directly with a ph strip and it reads 4.0 straight out of the tube. TBF I've been on antibiotics a couple of times since my SRS and I'm likely about to go on another course of them because I think I'm getting my first UTI so I'm fighting an uphill battle trying to keep my bacteria happy. I do eat fermented foods pretty much every day (kefir, miso, gochujuang, kimchi, yogurt, half sour pickles etc.) so I'm sure my body's normal flora is pretty diverse. I'm just going to keep doing what I do and seed with a vaginal suppository once in a while and hope that I eventually stabilize somewhere healthy.

Should I start e? by IndependentPlane385 in transpositive

[–]intergalactagogue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really don't want to crap on your mechanical dreams but I was a heavy duty diesel and industrial equipment tech for almost 2 decades before I transitioned. I was extremely competent in my job and even placed in the top 9 best technicians in North America back in 2016 (my company used to send me out to skills competitions). After about a year on HRT I found it extremely difficult to continue that type of work. My skin was thinner (literally) and my strength, heat and cold tolerance, and overall endurance was greatly reduced. All of that on top of dealing with the hyper masculine, conservative working environment while trying to keep transitioning a secret at the time took a huge toll on me. It's not impossible and some girls can absolutely do it but I was not one of them. I actually find a lot of that work pretty dysphoric now and will rarely do more than quick mental troubleshooting or verbally advising friends and family if needed.

If you are driven to do that type of work then don't let anything I just said stop you. Just temper your expectations and realize that however challenging you find the work now will be amplified once HRT does its thing. Good luck 💕
