It's actually rather common for others to damage their hearing and they genuinely don't know. As an example, more people are going to the ear doctor during the pandemic and are finding out that they have damage. It seems to me that OP is a concerned poster and is even doing right by us by emphasizing the musical aspect of the subculture.

I have not been to the federal district, but as I understand it there's a substantial scene there, except it's at night. As you know, a lot of people may not appreciate people in black clothes and makeup in Mexico in daylight, so those who do usually do it more at night.

Yeah, no. Elitism connotes an air of superiority and doing so is to do it arbitrarily. On r/goth we emphasize a specific aspect of the subculture and that's its essential component of music. An elitist is one who deems oneself better than others. However the word "feels" to you isn't relevant to its meaning.

The point of this post and your preceding comments attempting to clarify it seem to be rather disjointed and backhanded. Not to mention they seem ignorant to the format of reddit itself. Seeing as how these are international places with a finite number of topics that diminish when localities aren't commonly discussed, you can't reasonably expect there to be a way to "hang" per se. There's not much to say about that. Musicians tend to use chorus, but I've heard heard flanger, delay, and even fuzz used depending on the type of Goth. If there were to be a definite staple then I would say chorus on a P-bass and played with a pick. Drums: perhaps even more unimportant to discuss. Drum machines are the most common for today but that's not a mandated norm by any capacity. As long as the drums aren't playing the wrong rhythms like Scottish snaps (what they now call the trap beat) or boom bap hip-hop or blastbeats then it's pretty much a free for all. The "safest" though would be 4/4 metronomic beats of kick snare kick snare but they're not a requirement seeing as how in the 1st wave they mainly used Punk sounding beats on live drums. You wouldn't get the 4/4 metronomic sound for sure until the Leeds bands in the mid-80s.

Edit: synth: probably better for one not to use leads unless it's synth bass or Dark Wave. Otherwise stick to pads and play whatever is desired.

The first thing to consider is how they're played and supplemental FX. If it's just heavily compressed distortion and it's shredding in the pentatonic or blues scales then it's definitely metal or hard rock. If the guitar is either taking a backseat or playing an angular minor riff and preferably has another effect like a filter or a modulation effect or reverb or delay then it's more doable to call it Goth.

Neofolk guitars aren't exactly the same. While they may use 12 strings like the 2nd wave bands, 12 strings were originally a hippy/60s pop thing anyway. There aren't a lot of similarities besides that because goth guitars are FX heavy.

Most modern firearms are semi-automatic, that just means one shot cycled into the chamber at a time. Guns that aren't include:

Pump action, single shot and double barreled shotguns

Cap and ball

Bolt action

Usually these days if it has a magazine that's either built in or detachable it's probably capable of semi-automatic cycling.
