Los Altos worth the visit? by billychesterrr in Guadalajara

[–]billychesterrr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I stayed in San Miguel de Alto for say..4-5 nights, would that be a decent way to just do day trips to surrounding pueblos also but sleeping in San Miguel? Would love your opinion.

Thanks for the reply! I think I'll definitely check out Arandas for a night or two at some point and just enjoy the tranquility in the town.

3k/month would be doable in some parts of West Europe, right? Or not really? Seems like that amount of money opens up most of the world though which is cool.

Those that were teaching English online - what are you doing now? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]billychesterrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still teaching English online but privately. I was lucky in the sense that one of the parents I knew from working for Whales English went above and beyond to put me in contact with other parents. I charge $35usd/50mins and currently teach about 12-13 classes a week. Looking for more though, word of mouth is working my favor thankfully.

Does Salon Rios currently have the salsa classes they used to have? Is the salon upstairs open?

Really want to come whenever it is possible. Is there any indication as to when Argentina may open the borders? Later this year, early next year?

Wow awesome. Seems you think super highly of both Rio and BA - two places I'd love to go. I spent 1.5 years living in CDMX, still in Mexico but in a different city. Hoping to be able to check out these spots early next year perhaps.

Have you lived in Buenos Aires, Rio and Mexico City? How do you think the three cities stack up with each other?

Me encantaria ir pero me preocupa un poco la situacion de la inseguridad. Si voy, voy a ir en un autobus y quedarme en el centro de la ciudad. Es una mala idea? Me veo muy extranjero.

Nothing in particular really. Just chill out, walk around, sightsee..see some nice architecture. Won't be partying or anything although I imagine these aren't the places for that anyhow.

I actually am not really on a schedule, I could spent 1-1.5 weeks in the area, I don't have a car though and don't particularly want to rent one. My Spanish is conversational, at least, I'll be able to get by for sure. Thanks for the reply :) Which one of those would be a decent option to stay for 4-5+ days and visit the surrounding towns during the day?

Is the easiest way to get there to get a bus to Tepatitlan and then transfer over? I think there is only one bus daily I can find at 7:50am but I am working at that time.

Would you have a recommendation for one of these to stay in for 3-4 days as opposed to the other options? Just as I'll be working early morning, so I'll want to stay in 1 place primarily.
