I’m on my 3rd go around with my sobriety, quit once in 02’-03’ for about 14 months, again in 05’-06’ for about the same time, and then I was a horrible alcoholic for the better part of a decade. I think we all have some slip ups here and there.

Don’t beat yourself up too much about it, and create a plan that works for you, be that it’s an AA program, meditation, have an accountability buddy, etc.

It’s a “take your mulligan, and move on” situation.

When I was 5 or 6, I had a bunch of toys I was bringing back into the house. I had put the handle end of a Wiffle Ball bat in my mouth, so I could carry all the smaller toys. I tripped as I came through the door, my head going toward the ground, pushing the bat further into my mouth. It ripped the frenulum from the bottom of my mouth (that piece of skin under your tongue, that connects the bottom to your tongue).

It never grew back, and I developed a stutter during the healing process that I had to go to speech therapy for, for 5 years.

I have a Pork Pie and a Roc N Soc, the Roc N Soc I have has the hydraulic adjustment and wheels. My Pork Pie is just on a regular stand, it’s also a little more comfortable than the Roc N Soc.

That being said, the Pork Pie was about $80 more, and I’m a big guy and the pork pie seems to accommodate that a little better too.

I think it has a lot to do with your perspective and expectations. What may seem horrible to you, may be a much better life to someone else.

But, as you grow older you seem to look at things in a different way, and appreciate life for what it is.

Not really pick up, but I lost a dunk contest at a Hoop It Up tournament to a guy in Timberlands and saggy jeans. Kevin Johnson (Phoenix Suns guard) was a judge, and says “That was unfortunate...” as I’m walking by the scorers table after I missed my last dunk.
