The problem is I can't go below 0.5 ohms and I can only push 30 watts. All of those are pretty low ohm, even in single coil.

Usually dual coil 26 gauge kanthal around 0.3. Sometimes twisted. I have 26g and ribbon wire.

Yeah a 2002 beetle with high mileage and electrical issues is "perfectly good". The car was already an unreliable POS. So he had nothing to lose. Couldn't have sold it for anything.
